Modern games wouldn't of won, even if he was closer to the pace. I think Appleby hasn't got all his horse's fully wound up yet but things will definitely change by the middle of June

Not shocked Modern Games lost since he has only 1 win on this side of the world and has not raced in 5-6 months, but Buick is an idiot. 10 lengths back at a mile was as ridiculous as the bettors pounding Modern Games down to 2/5. I am so tired of poor jockey decisions. If they can make cars that drive themselves, maybe we should try races without jockeys to screw things up😀.
@@Makado14 I was just going by memory which obviously is lacking, but still some of what I said is accurate. He had not raced in 6 months, was definitely overbet, and Buick was irresponsible in how he rode the horse. He gave it zero chance to win.
@@manilowmaniak you are correct in these points, did you see Modern Games breeders cup wins? He was the horse that was let out of the starting gate because the horse next to him had fallen under it, he was made a no wager, and thousands of people who had bet on him protested.(with good reason). His 2nd win was last year. I'll concede that MG was not in his best racing shape, but if I were his trainer I would have pulled Buick off of him and proceeded to beat the h*all out of him right there in front of God and everyone else. ( my dad was a trainer). Not encouraging this type of behavior...

Speed on lead is always bet after the gate CAW wagering and they can bet after the gate opens

We need jockey-less races just like cars that drive themselves. The horse was way over bet though too. He was not all that.
