- This is the first reel mow of 2022. It does feel good to be out mowing but it has a long way to go to get the lawn back in shape after a LONG winter.

I feel like the lawn season officially starts when Connor has his first reel mow.
Nice mow pal
You made my Sunday evening ! Roasting Buffalo Wings and watching The Lawn Rebel !!!
I just got my first looky Loos last week. It was the fire dept. . They passed by in there truck and turned around and pulled to my curb to compliment my yard. They asked if I liked my real mower and I said of course. I asked them if they had been watching any RUclips lawn videos. I asked them if they knew who Ryan Knor was ? They said yes, so I told them they really need to be watching The Lawn Rebel!!! 😁
Wow, looking good for the first reel mow. Glad to see you back on the Tubes, brother!
Last Aussie 😁. Good to see you’re better and out on the lawn , lots to do to get it back to schmick condition but that’s your forte. 😎
Instead of using the pro plugger in that spot, dig it up and cut out some of the grass along the fence line. Essentially using your turf as your own sod, just cut it deeper to make sure you have good soil in that area after the tree treatment killed it. Glad to see you again on Sunday nights
Glad you’re feeling better! We missed you! Keep them coming…!
Connor mowing vids are the best.
Those houses behind you are almost done. Crazy to see them being built in the backgrounds of your videos.
I was just watching your previous vid when this popped up - Score!
When is the Home Depot trip for annuals? Always like that one and your excitement!
Amazing lawn in an environment that doesn't support lawns - long winter short summer. You are a lawn wizard Connor! Respect!
looking good! I'm jealous!
You and me both! We are both jealous of each other.
Great to see you feeling better again, pal!
Gotta love that first now! Good to see you back.
He’s back at it. Lawns going to be 🔥 in no time. 👍🏼
Connor please make a video planting the dahlias, great video brother 👍 🙏
The lawn is looking good. Can't wait to see all those dahlias in the ground!
Can’t wait to see that tree area finally filled in. I’ll be watching to see what you do with it!
Net first, but happy to be here.
Thank you Mikey
Get a 12" billy goat sod cutter. Nice and lightweight. Cut out the bad spots and then pick an area in the backyard where you designate as farm grass and cut out some nice sod and replace the bad spots in the front. Instant beatification. The sod cutter will give you the same depth of cut front and back so leveling isn't a problem. Just go over with a lawn roller a few times and water daily for a week or 2.
Let the mowing season begin!
The mullet is back
I regret cutting it off from the second that I did.
Can’t wait till you start to plant and care for all your new neighbors yards. 😂
Ahhhhh..a nice relaxing connor video
Glad you’re back…great mow!
That's the Connor we've come to know and love. Throw all the rules away and just mow it down!
Yep. Rules are only rules if you want them to be
@@lawnrebel Far Out, he's back. Connor Dude !!! What's up you crazy dude, I seen a bright eyed wild dude named Connor 😜 with a smile as wide as a dude's face could hold on it !!! No snow 3 month's to mow 😍🤩😍😛. I missed the entertainment 😢 😫 😔 When you adding your annual 20 trillion tons of sand ???
Typing this before pressing play. I’ve missed your videos Connor. Been watching old ones to scratch the itch. Thanks for posting.
I used to work at a golf course and worked on toro reel mowers constantly. For test strips we just used magazine paper cut into strips. Folded I half for fairway mowers and a single strip for the greens. Very satisfying to do.
His Connor! I just ran into your video by accident and and I love your lawn. First time seeing that type of mower...I'm going follow you to learn and get my lawn like yours. Hopefully get a toro lawn mower too next yr. Thanks!
Seems like you had a heck of a time with your mow lol was fun to watch
FINALLY!
Explain more about the dumpster business?!🤙 keep killing it lawn shaping up nicely
The KING has returned!!
Not first but also not last.
♥
Yes! Looks fantastic. I couldn’t click the video fast enough once I saw the thumbnail
Glad to see ya back for this season! Love your videos!
It’s coming sir everywhere spring does arrived later
Just finished that sissy grass guys new video and thought "I hope Connor posts soon" and immediately got the notification!
The lawn is like me... Needs more LAWN REBEL!!!
I don’t have any doubts. Dig it up and be done with it brother. You can do it.
It will bounce back in no time.
CONNER!!! miss you pal
Dying to know the back story of why u harpoon the grass across the street all of a sudden 🤣
Glad to see you back in the lawn!
It's nice to see you. Hope you are well.
Greetings from Germany
cool editing!
I'm diggin that T-shirt :)
It's nice to see the garden center is back at Conner's house, I hope the prices didn't jump too much this year.
make that tall gras short Connor!
Man I'm so glad you are back. Lawn looking good pal.
The toro 🤤 awesome video as always 😊🙏🏾🙌🏾🤙🏾
Hey connor, liked the edit you did with you talking on the right and you mowing on the left. Have you ever heard of a product called Prograss Herbicide? It's supposed to be able to treat poa annua in cool season lawns. I know you mentioned you have triv in the lawn, but I was wondering if you heard of this stuff and have ever tried it? It's very expensive at $500 for 2.5 gallons. I am impatient and want to get rid of my poa annua ASAP, but I must admit, last year, I had thick infestations of poa in my backyard, and over the summer I scalped the thickest parts of them with a bagger, then applied pre-emergents over those sections. Now I am seeing hardly any of those tale-tell poa seed heads in the back. I have a lot in the front yard because I didn't treat it because I was overseeding it last year.
A Connor Ward mow job video. It doesn't get any better than that. Great to see you're feeling better and your lawn will be back in no time. Can't wait to watch you whip it back to Connor standards. 👍💚🦸
Striperman, Good Monday afternoon, I have been away for 6 days and it rained pretty much the whole time. Hopefully the sun will be out today. How has it been your way ?
@@trevormuggeridge4560 Good Tuesday morning mate. Hopefully the rain didn't follow you home. Sunny and warm the last few days and the birds are chirping and laughing at the Ghost Lawn lol
The yard is looking great....
about time!
Love the shirt PAL. cheers
Sometime I'd be curious to see how you keep your reels clean. I can't keep the grass from caking on the blades - even with light mows every other day.
Gotta wait till the grass is dryer.
@4:52 Awesome special effects/editing. Im on my 9th mow here in CT
Nothing like the first reel mow of the season
So late to the party today. Was doing my own weeknight lawn work yesterday. SpeedZone on the Charlie and new thistle sprouts, and installing rubber edging on the front rock bed. I'm sore today! Lol.
That Charlie is evil.
@@lawnrebel The thistle is worse! You can at least walk barefoot in Charlie!
Here we go!!!
Appreciate the content!
How how does your grass look so good I like it so much I wish I had that come on
Miss your videos Lawn Rebel, hope you are feeling better pal. Let's get that dead spot fixed this season.
If you come across any used ones for sale in the area. Please let me know. I am in your area, kinda. Just outside of slc. But I’m interested if you find a used one in decent shape. I know Jimmy Lewis is selling his John Deere.
With all these homes coming in, the soon to be question is “what fertilizer do you use?”
They normally skip all the hard work we do and go strait to the fertilizer.
I got turned on to Anderson fertilizer last year and love it,,way better than Scott's but its pricey and only available online
I'm telling ya, do a test plot of mazama kgb. You will like it-uhlot.
We have been hearing about you fixing that spot for too long, just get it done!
It's still early to look that good! It'll come around with your help.
I hope so!
really enjoy your videos keep em coming 👍☘☘☘
Can we see the garden planting vid please. I loved the vid were you went and started buying your flowers.
Great video always, keep it up Lawn Rebel
Thanks for the video, love the shirt! LOL Lawn looks great BTW!
yeah the shirt is the best. I love it.
Why didn’t you bust out the tri-plex!?
my yard is nothing special but it's like a moon scape and super uneven. not sure the wife would let me get a dump truck of sand. is there a somewhat easy and cheap way to level it or do i just have to bite the bullet?
I might be the last to comment. Good to see you are feeling better. Love the T Shirt! haha
yeah the shirt is the best
Great video Connor
You should swap out those MP rotators and put in regular rotors, the MP’s are really good for slopes and areas where you have super sandy soils. They have to run pretty long to put down the inches that regular pop ups and rotors put down.
Did you guys get snow a few days ago?
Will this be the year he finishes the shed?
It's pretty well done. As a shed... It's done. Just need to add a ramp
So great to see another video on the U tubes. Is your disposal business called Conners Cans ? Lol
Oh man... What's a great name.
Do you think toro will come out with battery powered timemaster?
Yes I do
Florida first
I was throwing my clippings across the street but the guy who lives there wasn’t happy, and then he got really mad when I started peeing in his yard.
HES BAAAAACCCCCKKKKK
Have you ever used Golfco Competition Rollers and or JRM bed knifes/reels?
Hearing a lot of great things about them.
My Bermuda is just started taking off here in AZ. It looks like I’m going to have a spurge issue though unfortunately.
You should give pre germinating grass seed a try! Ryan Knorr is too scared to do it but it would especially make sense on your KBG to do it to make it pop up right away. Just need a couple 5 gal buckets and a 5 gal paint strainer, I did it with massive success this spring
i am thinking about doing a full reno on my front lawn there. I have so much poa that I think it may be the best option. I was thinking about pre germinating like you are saying. I have been thinking about doing it for a long time now.
@@lawnrebel I just did a Reno for the exact same reason haha Poa is a massive pain. Do it! There’s a good reason why a lot of the pros pre germinate haha and as long as the seed isn’t too wet when it’s time to spread then it doesn’t get very clumpy at all, I put Saran Wrap on top of the seed to keep moisture in and add a little bit of water each morning until it runs out of the bottom of the bucket then you know it’s fully hydrated, but once you feel it’s close to germinating pull back on adding water if you can then it won’t clump up and you can mix it with something to make it broadcast spreader compatible (just not fert or you’ll kill the seed, learned that the hard way lol)
@@lawnrebel why not just apply pre-m?
Do you have a Trick to how Cut your Edges are around the Beds and Tree?
Natural edge - he has videos about it
Why isn't the drag on ur shop site 💔
it was a POS... I did not like it. so I took it out.
@@lawnrebel oh man. It looked awesome was looking forward to getting one 😢
Thanks for the video. What state are you in?
UT
What's the longest you'd mow fine fescue/kbg with a reel?
I have a shady area and the fine fescue in there does not like getting managed allot. I think i will go higher on it this year - I tried 2.5 but it struggled with the trampling I was giving it when mowed.
I think I will just mow it as it really needs it at a much higher hight this year so I am on it a little as possible.
@adog3336 I'm cutting well below 2" and am curious how to transition into a reel mower without having to mow every other day or spoon feed too often. I've kept the yard longer in the past but have improved it to the point of wanting to mow shorter. I would say 3" is about the max for fine fescue before it basically leans over and becomes hard to cut, especially if you miss a mow or get a lot of rain.
You're asking me? 3/4"
Some fertilizer and water, and it'll be green by next weekend.
Looks great! You really shouldn't be turning on the asphalt with the reel mower, can cause damage on the roller.
Get some nitrogen and some growth regulator on that turf and you will be in good shape. You already know this but that turf was way too long to be cutting with a reel mower.
Real pisser offer I wasn't first
How is it dry? Didn't you just get snow?
What is your cut height? I just got a 90's John Deer 22.
Put groomers on the reels 👍
