YB had over 90 gold and Platinum records back in 2022 when I checked (yes actually looking at sales and not Instagram engagement my goodness bob have you fallen)
YB hasn't been able to tour since the 2020's. It's not Carti's fault but remember when Carti was going to drop a whole album narcissist because fans didn't like WLR but the tour saved him and gave him a whole new momentum for his career. YB never got to do that, just like how Uzi never got to tour ET which would of been incredible.
YB VS Uzi is a real conversation. YB drops like 8 albums in 1 year, if he didn't drop for 4 years he'd sell 200k easily, and if he could tour and be back in Louisiana.. but this isn't the what if game. Carti is EASILY more clouted has WAY more influence and imo is a MUCH better artist (not rapper but artist). I'd much rather listen to Carti just like gunna because he's so easily digestible vs YB who's been mad since he was like 16... But objectively speaking it's not even close. Because the subjective aspect will always make people be bias. That’s the only objective aspect of music outside of maybe awards shows which are mad fraudulent. Think back to 2007 when Kanye and 50 cent had a battle not on who was better or more tough but simply who sold more. It only matters if YOU care about it. If you don’t like YB or carti who cares, don’t listen. But people who are in the middle will look at numbers to see who the average individual may be more inclined to listen to or gravitate towards
