Respect is what’s missing around the world.
Very true. I do ANd everyone needs to
Respect and sanity - both are in short supply. LOL
The rest of the world has so much to learn still from Japan
Japan has vending machines for everything, but those dispensing hot and cold drinks are some of the best.
I bought a bidet for my bathroom and it really does spoil you. I have the heated seat too. Using the bathroom anywhere else really does feel barbaric now. And I feel so much cleaner. I got after I was diagnosed with colon cancer, so I’m using it a lot and it was the best purchase I ever made.
In turkey we have bige in and the hardest thing in travel cant use it 😅
I’ve just come from Singapore where I used a bidet for the first time in my hotel room. OMG it was wonderful. Loved the heated seat and how clean I felt after the ‘down under’ rinse and dry. Wish I had one at home❤
@Jane-gv4vo it’s amazing isn’t it!? Muslims have been washing down under for 1400 years. Can’t do it any other way ❤😂
Im staying at a house in WA, where the family live in Japan years ago. They have the seat heated washlet/bidet. Easy to order online. I just spent 6 wks in Japan. Live the bidet and onsen. I felt so clean!
We got the heated bidet after we visited Thailand and Malaysia in 2023. It’s the best thing ever.
Had a bidet in my home. It was a game changer. M
When I was a kid I sit in the floor close to tv, so I'd figured out to take a blanket and drape it over a heat vent near me. So I kinda did that heating table thing....sorta.
Turks Chinese and mongols had those heating tables 2,000 years ago
Afghanistan has that too
I did the same thing 😀
Why don't more countries adopt cozy ideas like this?
Haha I did that too! Well actually I created a pillow/blanket fort around the heat vent. I used the couch cushions as walls, and created an additional barrier with a little "sleeping" area that collected the most heat and I put my baby brother in there (he was a preme and this was in the Midwest USA. The house was barely 68 on a good day, and usually closer to 55-65). My mom was furious because I was "stealing" all the heat for myself. Also I had taken all the cushions and moved the furniture for my little fort. I still did it whenever she wasn't home. I didn't care about the heat bill. Baby bro made it through the winters and is all grown up now with a family of his own.
I like the phones cleaner
You could just use a sanitizer wipe. Not a big deal
@childresshousethat's so true most of the gadgets that supposed to do state of the art, are often more work to make, utilize and can be done quicker with a wet wipe or Windex on a rag!😂😊
I agree with you. I like the phone cleaners
Shabu shabu...love it...what I miss is the ofuro at home...and instant hot water. They have that kind of water heater in USA...but I guess it is very expensive.. so sensible..a hot water soak in an ofuro after a long day is so relaxing..it is part of the Jspanese tradition. Part of ev we ryday life iN Japan. But, life in Japan is not EASY.. Be honest.
Australia is 100 years behind Japan.
It took ten seconds for me to understand why my son loves Japan so much. 🇯🇵🇦🇺
The heating under the table with using a blanket a fabulous idea especially with running heat throughout is so expensive these days!
What a modernize country ,super living of easy way of life.
There are also onsens that allow bathing suits. Some also have separate areas for women and men for naked bathing.
🙄🧐
Where in America?
@jaxjax9696
No, this show was about Japan
I was in Taipei 20 odd years ago (bird or swine flu era)and they had the best vending machines with real foods and drinks, very reasonable price, it was China Airlines and we were delayed cause of 'flu'
So they accommodated us in a new Polar Bears golf resort, Asia has my RESPECT
Brilliant ideas!
I the northern sides of Pakistan ppl burn coals ( first outside to prevent gases) then put a table put the heated mud bucket cover with thick layered quilt for the night as there is no Electricity No Gas ,so in ONE room everybody gathers around that make shift bed
When I built my new house, I put washlets in all of the bathrooms. You have no idea how fast you get addicted to heated seats and cleanliness.
This was so interesting! Thank you. I absolutely Liked and Subscribed.
I installed a bidet on my toiler during the covid closings and can confirm, it's great and I HATE using other toilets without them.
We need kotasu in Canada.❤
Shaun shabu...love it.
Thank you 🙏
Japan is a fabulous country. Everything in this video is true. I bought a bidet for my home after going to Japan. I plan to go again.
Japan is the king of convenience
it's perfect
Here in NorCal, we have the Hot Springs. Your skin is so soft and clear after visiting them.
All Turkish toilets have washlets since ages.
Central heat is much better than a heated table
Arizona has had misting systems since the mid 1990s.
The Japanese are extremely clever people and they care about what and how they present conveniences that makes life easier for them. I bow down to such thoughtfulness on every level of life.
I live in Australia and I feel embarrassed at how backwards our country must seem to them.. if only more governments held such considerations for their nations like Japan, we'd all be a much happier and healthier world living in harmony with each other and our environments. I'm soo wishing I could live in Japan just watching this. At best I can lay claim to having visited Japan and I loved everything about my visit there.
After visiting Japan, we installed a bidet in our bathroom. Love it!
My little bro has one in his basement apartment bathroom. He got the idea from Japan, also.
Japan is awesome and nice, safe and kind...my god also a lot of packaging/garbage, electricity that is being spilled by stuff that is unnecessary turned on 24 hours, and too much polyester.
They have very good recycling Systems too.
Kotatsu Families are Happy Families ❤. Kotatsu, Hot pot and Onsen are my new favorite 3 words.😊
Self heating meals can be found at my local Asian grocery store. Mostly Chinese versions and are quite popular because I’m seeing more varieties recently. I hope to see Japanese ones one day.
I have seen those outdoor misting units in Phoenix, Arizona. They're awesome!
There in CA too
HAPPY TECH🎉
Using any restroom without a washlet is barbaric. We got to try one out at a Hilton and ordered ours while we were on vacation. Our only install challenge was waiting for our electrician to add outlets in our water closets. I am considering purchasing one for my office restroom. Heated seat and water, the seat opens auto-magically. ❤🎉😊
#1. the kotatsu! infra red light heated quilt covered tables rule! How people lived in comfort without central heat. 😊 Somebody please make AC/DC compatible kotatsu! Lot of people can no longer afford to heat their homes to ‘warm’.
My husband explained why kotatsu would not work in Canada. We have central heating, Japan does not. Can’t turn off our central heating for a kotatsu, our water pipes would freeze and in a condo/ apartment the condensation would eventually affect the building structure.
The only traveling place that doesn't give me UTI at the end of my trip 😢I miss japan
They have misters in AZ in many places.
They're all over California walking malls and outdoor restaurant areas too. Not to mention outdoor venues and stadiums.
Ughhh chemical heating underneath with the food in plastic? Just look up what that does to your body. 😮
I dont know they do or not but as a food engineer there are migration tests that can or plastic material cointain to meal or not
@NAILART_BEGINWITHME_
Its not about what the heating element is, its bad to heat any food in a plastic container. If you're a food engineer you would know that. Just google " is heating food in plastic containers bad for you" its very well known lol.
There are really a lot of innovative and positive things in the video. It would be wonderful if Japan were the ideal place for the world to learn from. However, there is immense social pressure in Japan that leads to suicides and causes people to go into hiding. Furthermore, there is, for example, widespread racism in Japan.
I love cash money 💗
Wish we had a way to purchase kototsu in the U.S.
The worst part about traveling is that I usually don't have a bidet. I love my bidet at home.
If you are going to use other creators videos in yours, you should give them credit in your description.
Self heating meals are imited to Military meals ready to eat in the U S
as a japanese, all i need is Kotatsu😂
most of them are affordable. but...when i bought new Kotatsu, i tried to find circle one. it looks a little stylish😂 just in my opinion
If you’re sitting on the couch and you put the KOTATSU in front of you wouldn’t the cold air from the bottom of the couch creep under there? Also, if you’re sitting on the floor, that’s the coldest place in the house, I understand there’s a heater, but your back is against a cold wall?
They have them in Spain.
#15 - they must've had an incredible epiphany in the thirty years since i last visited family. Then, depaato bathrooms were all squat toilets and you had to remember to bring your own toilet paper and paper towels. And smelt. It was a good thing that i couldn't stand the taste of the tap water, because that meant i didn't have to visit the toiree so much...
Spectacular. We, in the U.S. are living without good things. We are so ignorant.
Why is standing only eating a good thing? Speed eating is not healthy. Why not just have a longer lunch break?
Those are mostly located in or near train stations. People who don’t have much time eat there also they are cheap.
Eating while standing because you are under time pressure is not healthy. It’s a marketing excuse that lets the provider save money on dining infrastructure, and allows for high turnover. TBH, I’d rather skip a meal than have to eat one standing up.
The blanket around the table id due to freezing cold in apartments. If I can, I'd rather have a heated room than heated legs.
No tattoos in many Onsen locations? Guess I will have to cover them up somehow!
Me too
We do have the table with the heater and the blanket in many places in Spain, especially the south. It is called "mesa camilla". 😊
And we also have the coolers for summer 😅
There is a huge business opportunity. 120 volt flat, caged heat lamps with thermostats. Kotatsu lights for low cost winter heating. In the day of open floor planning & sky high heating costs, families could benefit by sharing a warming kotatsu, quilt covered warming tables.
I don’t understand people trashing public restrooms in America. I feel like it’s culturally frowned on here too, but people still do it. I shouldn’t have to be in fear using a public restroom because some people are miserable and want everyone else to be miserable too.
Omg Japanese actually Thanks there making life easy lol yo ya forgot the Japan prices for easy URLs forget it I’m American I’m sorry tell the newagers all about your urlops Ty
Self-heating bento boxes - AKA MRE
Most of these public innovations would be quickly vandalized in the US and that makes me mad. Swifter, stiffer punishment would help.
What are you talking about? 🤔
@krissykriss328 You must live a pampered life.
@jimmerhardy
I absolutely do not live a pampered life. Why would you even make that accusation? Make it make sense.
no, only better parenting does..
@LeiaSkywalker-Resistance Sure, but until that happens (not soon), throw the vandals into a deep pit and away from nice things. Okay?
I got a warm water bidet, and I can never go back. I realized people who only use toilet paper just aren't actually clean. 😬 Before the bidet, I used wipes, which are better than toilet paper, but nothing beats washing yourself.
We had them in Spain as well
hmmm it strerilises our phone.
Does it wipe your info?
I find that a lot of these are recycled.
I lived in Korea and the floor was heated which is turn heated the apartment
Japan is so clean and ahead of time. A learned behavior since childhood and passed on. Makes other countries appear as slobs. Behind the times. My opinion only.
All these amenities only work in a high trust, low litigation society.
11:42 IC card payment systems are nice but ONLY in a high trust country where you aren't followed by RFID scammers and you have faith in your government.
Any other location on earth would abuse it AND the populace.
Crime is low there, because you are held in jail, until you confess. Then the trial is a foregone conclusion.
Not Singapore. Read about their punishment system, and you'll know why it's called the lowest crime country in the world. No scammers, no one putting skimmers on ATMs, virtually no crime at all, and for very, VERY good reason...the punishment goes beyond the crime!
The warmth is addictive ? What a nonsensical statement
You should at least give Dancing Bacons a shout-out, if you're going to steal this much of their content.
And Japan with Nao.
outdoor misting stations...you obviously never been to AZ or NV, while they are not everywhere, at least in PHX they are in-particular at DMV. yes should be in more places... but thats wasteful.... ya know there was a time when it wasnt needed.. kinda BEFORE AC???? and not to mention having something like that is GA, or FL....makes it MORE humid.
The problem in the U.S. is that everything is vandalized. The phone sanitizer would quickly have trash dumped in it. The hot and cold drink vending machine would be smashed if it wasn't under supervision. Bathrooms generally would be messed up unless inside a well supervised area. We don't have a cohesive culture in the U.S. and many people are resentful.
If they did any of it in USA it would be destroyed or stolen. We have the worse criminals
So this is basically an AI voice video made up of clips form other youtube channels who actually MAKE content - Like Dancing Bacons. And also a lot of this stuff exists and ahs done for years, outside of japan. MRE and hiking food packs have checmical heaters.
Excactly
Well most countries COPIED Asia
America needs those train screens. We JUST had some psycho attempt to push someone in front of the light rail.
Misters are literally EVERYWHERE in the Southwest. I lived in Vegas, Phoenix, and L.A. we've had misters for at least 45 yrs as I'm 55 and I remember them being on our house in Arizona when I was 10. It's not new, it's also not strictly Japanese.
I wish we had the misters in Florida; the humidity in the summer is brutal.
@valerieking5265 oh that sucks that you don't. Home Depot sells them, you could put them around your house. We did that in Vegas, and our electric bill went down by 20%
Misters 😐
Misters in Japan 🤩
I remember them being at Disney World when I was 10 and I’m older than dirt.
@FlyingMonki
They're exactly the same as the misters in America lol 😅
Hmmm. Maybe I will go back to Japan. I haven't been there since 1984 when some friends and I were refused service at a restaurant because a Japanese man claimed only people who speak Japanese could go inside the place. We knew we were being openly discriminated against and I called him out on it by saying that my money spends all over the world and I don't have to eat there. They used to have signs in their windows that said 'No dogs or Americans' according to my military friends who were once stationed there.
'No dogs or Americans'
we need those signs in every civilized country!!!
Now its unspoken but EVERYWHERE
LOL. When you said overhead, you shot an actual scene of the entryway/ceiling "Overhead". 😂👍✌️
Oh yeah? Well theres NO trash cans in Tokyo!
While informative, this is twice as long as it needs to be.
very interesting!!!
How can we get these bento boxes in the U. S.? (Please don't say MREs.)
Do some research, don't expect others to do it for you.
I would also love those boxes.
I wouldn't want food being chemically heated in a plastic container.
I have seen these recently. Google possibly? Hopefully you will find one. ❤
Most of these ideas wouldn't work in America because we think freedom means the right to be uncivil.
No way this will work out in the US 😂
Wow I live in Japan, but the sign says Pennsylvania. Our neighborhood hot pot restaurant has individual pots.
HA! UNLIMITED Alcohol in up to 2 hours in America? They would lose money. America is addicted crntral
I have an American version of Katatsu. It’s called an electric blanket. It works so well I have them all around the house, including the bathroom.
My country is to busy taking my money and giving nothing back but extremely high prices on everything. We get crime filth and anxieties
You must be in the USA cuz I’m getting the same thing.
The US, right? Yep, I agree. We have way too many "Greedy Politicians" in office and always have. 👍✌️
You must live in America.
japan has the highest suicide rates and loneliness too..
...nowhere is perfect.
Homogeneous societies are able to do things like this.
do any of these appliances availible in usa?
😂 yes, America is not a 3rd world country. Lots of people have bidets
Duh yes😂
Everything sounds amazing except the self heating bento boxes. Heating in and eating out of plastic sounds dangerous with chemicals leaching into the meal.
I’m more concerned about the disposal of those boxes. Not only the plastics, but the used chemicals are going into the disposal system. Are they recycled, incinerated, or buried in a landfill? If you bring your own food and just use a microwave, you can eat hot food without the waste.
Thank you! I've been saying this in the comment threads.
I won’t use a microwave, it alters the water molecules. Yuck
@w@wellman867 microwave causes movement within the water molecules (which creates the heat) but cannot alter them. They remain water molecules. If you want to alter water molecules, you have to go through chemical processes. A microwave is just light energy.
I swear, people have some of the most bizarre beliefs.
The chemicals are in a completely separate container that the the food container is in. No way to leach into it.
THEY FOCUS ON THE PEOPLE NOT PERSONAL GREED LIKE THE US 🤬
The United States has the mister things. Not sure why you think this is unique to Japan.
We have misters, washroom bidets, UPI for universal payments and transfers, standing food serving restaurants, umbrella covers at the entrances, vertical multi storey mechanical parking, natural hot springs here in India as well.
Additionally we have delivery apps which can deliver anything from food, groceries, tiffins, paperwork to mobiles and laptops in a few minutes.
But Japan does everything better than everyone in the world lol. We also have most of the things listed in my country, usa.
In MY opinion the reason we do not have these type features in the US is, one, some people in the US do not think that things done or made in other countries, like Japan, are as good as Americans can do it; and two, in the US its always someone has to make some money off of innovations like Japan has.
Used to be whatever was "make in Japan" was a cheap item. Toyotas are one of the number one cars that last a long time. NOW everything from "China" is considered questionable or full of toxic chemicals. [which is true at this time]. Let's see what the future brings. We are, after all Earthlings.🤔🤔
Interesting perspective! Japan definitely focuses a lot on efficiency and convenience in everyday life, which leads to many unique innovations. Different countries have different priorities and systems, but it's always fascinating to see how ideas from around the world can inspire new solutions. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Why can’t you use the onsets when you have tattoos?
Because traditionally tattoos are associated with Yakuza criminal groups, and they don't want others to be scared or offended by those who have tattoos.
@midnightrambler6227 That makes sense. My mind went to wondering how my butterfly tattoo & triquetra tattoo would offend anyone. My two daughters & I got identical butterfly tattoos on the same place on the back of our shoulders for my birthday. I have lupus.
“Self heating bento boxes” MRE
"Bath suites not allowed" And then a picture of a man in bathing boxer shorts!
In Icaland you are not even Allowed to be naked in public geothermal Baths!
Bathing SUITS---a "suite" is a connected series of rooms, or a matching collection of furniture, not an article of clothing. And for the purposes of PUBLIC viewing, YT cannot permit nudity, hence the man having to wear shorts--and he wasn't in an onsen, he was in a natural spring.
There are two things contributing to Japan's success. One, they have a high average IQ, approximately 107, one of the highest in the world. Second, they have a high level of social reciprocity, meaning they care about their neighbors, its not a theory but reality. Lastly, perhaps most controversially, they are a largely homogeneous society, which generally speaking tamps down on rebellious forces in-country.
Most Americans would complain that they should get paid as a cook if they had to cook their own meal at their table
What are you talking about? I make fresh healthy meals for my family daily, with 100% love.
Shabu Shabu restaurants are popular here in California. Love them when the weather gets cold.
