I'm a male, and I'll tell you what needs to happen if Christians want to reach out to me and get me back into church. People need to stop bringing gender (i.e. men''s stuff) into it. Gender is an artificial construct and I'm tired of it being shoved in my face. Every time I try to connect with church and engage in the questions, people keep trying push me off into men's groups and activities.I find it absurd to assume that I will necessarily relate to someone, think like them or have a lot in common with them just because we are of the same gender. I'm tired of men's stuff. I'm tired of people making gender based assumptions about me. I believe that they should get rid of gender based groups and activities, especially men's groups. I lost my Christian faith many years ago. I'm interested in reconnecting with church and engaging in the questions and exploring the possibilities of returning to faith. Despite my doubts, I think there are conversations well worth having. However, one of my core principles is that I want my spiritual journey to be unisex and gender inclusive. While people keep bringing gender into it, I'm unlikely to return to church in any real way.
