  • A Queens man who spent just $2 on a Mega Millions ticket was presented with a $133 million over-sized check this morning.

    From - nypost.com/200...
Aubrey Boyce, 49, of Kew Gardens, won the July 7 drawing after letting the computer pick what turned out to be the winning numbers.
“Shocked and still a little nervous about the whole thing - that’s how I feel,” said Boyce. “It’s still very much a dream, a dream come true.”
Boyce was presented with a check during a news conference at Grand Central Terminal.
State lotto officials said Boyce opted for the lump-sum payment that will give him a whopping $82.7 million.
After taxes, Boyce will take home $54.6 million.
Boyce lives in a $145,000 condo he purchased four years ago and earned $64,472 in his job as a collection agent at the MTA.
Boyce, who also quit his job today, collected his new fortune as the Trustee of the Archibald Trust - a management tool he recently created to help him administer his Mega Millions windfall.
Boyce, who typically spends $12 a week on lottery tickets, said he doled out $2 on the morning of July 7 for two sets of Quick Pick numbers for that night’s drawing.
He said he never expected to win.
“I went to a different store the next day to check the winning numbers,” Boyce said. “I saw my numbers and got a little nervous. I went online to double check and there they were again; 25, 27, 35, 38, 39, and [Mega Ball] 28. My wife and I haven’t really slept since.”
Boyce said he immediately signed his ticket and kept it locked safely in a safe deposit box until he and his wife Francis contacted lotto officials.
“We were hoping things might calm down a little bit” he said. “But when that didn’t happen, we figured now was as good a time as any.”
Boyce bought the winning ticket at Shiv Convenience on Hillside Avenue in Jamaica, Queens.
The store - which has been selling Mega Millions tickets since the game’s debut in 2002 - received a $10,000 bonus from the New York Lottery for selling New York’s latest Mega Millions jackpot winner.
“I used to play the lottery so I could win big,” said Boyce. “Big enough to retire, have enough to live on. Now, I really don’t know what I’ll do beyond just taking care of my family.”

      Not anymore.
The Mega Millions and the Powerball Lotteries are rigged today.
They chose the winner of that 2B$$$ Jackpot.
That's why the results too way too long to post.
They looked for a single ticket in California and gave it to them.

This man is my second cousin (mum's first cousin). He shared some the money with his siblings. I've never met the guy but hand on heart I'm really happy for him. I love telling people my cousin won the lottery even though I have as much to do with him as any other lottery winner. :-) I also love the fact that he has the same name as Boycey from Only Fools and Horses lol!

The worst part about winning for those who want privacy is that the lottery is mandated by the freedom of information to release your name and hometown to the public. It's initially their money and they can do whatever they want to (within the law) before they hand the cash over to you. I still think it's messed up though, but I'd rather have them do that then go to a press conference so they can show my face over and over on news. I just want the money, they can have the fame.

There are a lot of scam artists out there, and you are NEVER prepared no matter how smart you are. Most of them are being sued for sexual harassment. Also, your relatives and friends WILL def come to you for help ALL THE TIME. And they don't really want to pay u back, since they think u r rich.

@iimdudits07 I kind of don't understand this. In Australia, we don't pay tax on our lottery winnings because each person who buys a lotto ticket pays a 10% gst (goods and services tax) or some other similar arrangement on the ticket, so the lottery winnings for the winner is free.

They take HALF off the top because they don't have the full money to do a payout. Majority of the LOTTO money is already spent on other things. So if you take the annuity, you get the full amount because they are paying you less than 10 million a year.

This is very true. I knew a fellow in Florida back in 97 that won 8.3 million and he and his wife were in bankruptcy count in less that 4 years. It would seem that if the people who win this kind of money couldn't have made it by their own efforts, work, and innovation, they just can't control it as you say. The poor think poor and have little self discipline.

I wouldn't even tell my friends, or at least nobody except real close ones. Why? Well, people with money are people with lots of friends(usually) and a girl. Sure, nothing against having a hot girl, but for what reason? ;)

I WILL NEVER SHOW MY FACE IF I WIN,...you know how many people would try to blackmail me....but then again theres an option of choosing to be known as one of the winners and not being known.....i rather be shady with it...

@steviegr36 hahha...lol... no mate... u see... what happens is.. instead of buying your son a celica worth thousands ... the winner buys his son ferrari worth millions... or for himself... a 500k house should be a good place to leave in... but they would prefer a 40 million dollar mension ... instead of shopping from regular shops.. people starts going to shops that charge them 60thousand dollars for a shoe... and if u arent a good money manager, u often risk losing it all mate !!
