I got my mare on facebook for 750 and she's the best barrel horse I've ever seen and she's extremely fast, funny thing is they were selling her cause she "wasn't fast enough". She could still always use some work, but if you try hard enough you could buy your own horse, doesn't even have to be a barrel horse and then learn how to train it to become a good enough beginner barrel horse
