I gotta ask you because I know what you mean cause see it I get chills and tear up. It is personal to me and I want to avoid politics but. My family has members that have served back in the day and my grandma told me horrors of real war she knew a person close to her heart who back in Vietnam would have to hide from the Vietnamese soldiers. And I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt this song just has a heavy vibe to it.
@@finewine256xx Well, I survived NATO bombing of Serbia. And the thing is, this video was actually recorded in ruins of Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) and the guy who directed the video was some Serbian guy who came up with the idea for the location. Regarding the acoustic part with nuclear bombs, well acoustic guitar brings so much emotion that is exactly the opposite of the sheer power of nukes. It's like a sad part at the end of the video that suggests that the world is going toward destruction.
Reminds me of the “To Live Is To Die” song in Metallica’s And Justice for all album and “One” from the same Album in 1988, sounds metallica inspired. Dope asf
It's so rare in any genre of music to have a album released so late into a iconics band career that could arguably be there best. Soulfly had some amazing albums but from beginning to end dark ages is amazing as anything sepultura or soulfly did in my opinion
This is such a great track. Dark Ages overall is really solid. It's the first Soulfly record I heard. Well, actually one of the first thrash/death albums I heard back in 2006, lol.

Wow! great stuff, great metal. first time I hear soulfly. I'm so unupdated when it comes to metqal. I still listen to all of the old stuff I have from 14-17 yrs ago, so I found out about the "new" sepultura and soufly only this year and now I finally listen to soulfly. really great, feels like sepultura's old stuff. Makes me want to listen to inner self.
@@alex-hi2gv okay you don't strike me as a fan of music. And don't take offense I wouldn't dare question you're "real metal credentials" you are definitely one of those fans of metal. Just not a music fan
@@JonnyCrackers common sense and an ear for music you're a true fan of the Cavalera Sound I know based on that you're a huge fan of Sepultura 1984-present of sepultura/soulfly
I think Max drops Acid and writes music. Whenever he plays something that scares the shit outta him, he writes it down so he can make a song when he's sober.
i have a thought about R&B music and other genres too, but i keep that thought to myself for the respect for the people that like it, listen to it and maybe get of on it. Screaming and shouting FTW!
So i go over to my buddy's house to party and he tells me a friend is coming over...So like half an hour later theres a knock at the back door and it Joe Nunez (SoulFly drummer) i was like "no way!" Long story short we chilled and talked and he told stories what not.Joe is an awesome guy and a real down to earth person. We Use to party like every other weekend and then they went on tour last time i saw him was like two months ago But yeah SoulFly rocks!
the acoustic ending is quite nice, probably rizzo's idea, there's loads of that stuff in ill niño do soulfly do any other songs where there's more of the ending stuff, or where there's clean vocals on top of the repetitive growling?
...and this song reminds me of Cavalera Conspiracy in regards to Soulfly; Bloodbrawl off of the "Inflikted album" has the exact same thrash/groove metal seguing into a gentle Latin-tinged guitar fade. Not quite related to the videos, but you see what I'm talking about.
@barty417 on every single one of their albums they have a track called soulfly (I,II,III,IV,V,VI) which is entirely acoustic/brazilian/tribal/instrumental. other non electric guitar songs are: karmageddon, zumbi, wings. also there are songs which include an acoustic part like: under the sun, mars, born again anarchist, porrada and a lot more. you can find clean vocals on umbabarauma.
@thenimblevagrant Dude, where are they going to be in March? I'd love to see them if they're going to be in Southern California... which I doubt they are. Anyways, enjoy man...
@gaiavoth That is great. Americans are fans too. Just cause you live in Brazil does not mean you know everything about this band. Have you at least met them?
Dark Ages,This album is too good.. 5 out of 5 stars!!!
I agree
still listening to this in 2024. Best Soulfly line up EVER
3:32 that acoustic part with nuclear tests give me chills every time!

Some of the solos have Kerry King from Slayer
It's actually a Latin/Spanish guitar.
understanding the roots makes the cause easy.Music as a universal tool explores no boundaries.
Well said
GREAT SONG... And i LOVE the ending... Solo and "clean"... PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!
The ending of this song has sounds of songs on the melodic parts of Ride the Lightning era Metallica like Fight Fire With Fire in the beginning part
is it me... or is this the best album they ever did by far?
i agree, all songs are amazing
So good. I love how Max can switch up to any Metal style, like Biggie did in Hip-Hop.
Para mí esta es la mejor formación de soulfly y por lejos el mejor álbum de la banda!
Frontlines caberia perfeitamente no Chaos A.D., muito boa música!!! \m/
2:53 ufff 😮💨
Tenho que concordar que é muito bom sendo que já sabia 2:45 e o solo com esse belo final para qualquer um chorar da exuberância da música!
De tirar o ár!!😤
That's a classic Max Cavalera riff. Question do you love Dead Embryonic Cells? Because i am going to say you do otherwise you wouldn't be here
Das melhores faixas Ja feitas em Metal !!
Max tu es GRANDE!
e o MArc Rizzo Tb Crl !
Grande Faixa!
Dark Ages is a great Sepultura album.
That is not far fetched. Sepultura would've released this had Max never left
It's so rare in any genre of music to have a album released so late into a iconics band career that could arguably be there best. Soulfly had some amazing albums but from beginning to end dark ages is amazing as anything sepultura or soulfly did in my opinion

Best song from Soulfly!
É um som de chorar!
Realmente mexe com o espiritual da gente.
Um bom trabalho casando generos diferentes!🔰
Best outro to existence ever.
KRL,que emoção ter achado essa somzera! Reflexão direta e forte sobre a guerra, toda traduzida no caos que o soulfly transmite!
this song is epic..and the uncensored version is awesome
The strength of music from 2:47 on, is uncanny. brings on a surge of almost superhuman feelings of power.
Cavalera moooonstro...!!! musicão!!!
O Max é um gênio, sem condições
2:55 That riff is like straight from And Justice for All
Oh shit. Thank you I didn't hear that at first thank you for the info 🤘

No.
2:45 on is what got me into metal when i saw this vid on tv and it is still probably still one of my favorite breakdowns

Great album, Sepultura alike vibe.
The tempo of this song is awsome
And the final THE FINAL is really cool
the outro of the song is quite the contrast but very fitting and awesome.

War is the favourite theme for clips on Max Cavalera :)
One of the best quote i've ever read

Red Stripe beer is damn good. Expensive but good. Soulfly are okay these days. Their first two records were their best.
The intro would make a kick ass ringtone
intro alarm, outro ringtone
Max Cavalera
They need to put this song in a first-person shooter.
nah man soulfly rule! and max and igor have sorted their shit out. but they are happy in different bands.
Yeah, right man!!!!!!!!!
