Recently made it to ante 12 for the first time with a bootstrap and bull run with over $500 and a 10x mult from a constellation and blueprint along with playing almost solely 5 of a kinds with half of my deck being 8’s! Learned a TON from watching your videos. Keep up the great work!
This run is shockingly similar to the run I got yesterday to complete completionist++. Had 3 Tribulets, a blueprint, and picked up The Order as my last gold sticker Joker. Ended up getting to Ante 20 for my best gold stake ever
mathematically it's better to have all of your blueprints/brainstorms on trib when you have a hanging chad, but only for 5 kings/queens. in the scenario where you have 1 blueprint on the hanging chad the mult is multiplied by (2^3)^4 * (2^3)^5, or 2^27 in the scenario where you have 0 blueprints on the hanging chad the mult is multiplied by (2^4)^4 * (2^4)^3, or 2^28 for 4 kings/queens, its even at 2^24, for 3, the blueprint on the hanging chad has 2^21 and with 0 blueprints on the chad has 2^20. this doesn't take into account mult, lucky or glass cards because i don't want to spend more time on this than i already have you can also prove this by using differential calculus, where x is the number of triggers of trib and 15-2x is the number of times a card is scored. multiplying them together gives you the power of the base 2 that you're multiplying the mult by. if you differentiate x(15-2x) with respect to x and equate it to 0 (to get the maximum of the function) you get the root x=3.75, because the function is symmetrical due to being quadratic, we can safely assume that the function will be higher when x=4 than when x=3, i.e. it is better to put all of your blueprints/brainstorms on your trib
we can also use differential calculus to show that having 2 brainstorms on the s&b and 1 blueprint on the trib is the same as 2 brainstorms on the trib and 1 blueprint on the s&b. once again, x is the number of triggers of trib, 25-5x is the number of triggers of cards caused by s&b. the root of derivative of x(25-5x) is x=2.5, and because the function is symmetrical, f(x+0.5) is equal to f(x-0.5), so cool beans!
Hi, this might be a late reply, but I have a few questions Firstly, are we also excluding red seals? Because let's take this situation starting at 46:55, we start at base 25 mult Looking at the scenario where you have 1 blueprint on the hanging chad, including the red seal on the Jack, I calculated it to be (2^3)^5 * (2^3)^5 or 2^30. When we multiply by 25, we get 26,843,545,600, which is very close to roffle's final score of the round Also, I'm curious as to how you got the expression 15 - 2x for the number of times a card is scored Other than that, I really like the math you did!
@@cyberz55 thank you for your reply. i am in fact excluding red seals because i hate doing more math than i want to. i might come back to this scenario with the red seal later if i feel like it. im sure there's an algebraic way to get the number of triggers as 15-2x however i did it by inspection because i was lazy.
@pinkduck4782 Okay, I finally found an algebraic way to get 15 - 2x with the information you gave me. Get ready! First, I split the exponent of 2^27 to be 2^(3*9), then I looked at what it was equal to: (2^3)^4 * (2^3)^5. Then I looked at the expression when you have zero blueprints on the hanging chad and realized that the 4 as the exponent in (2^3)^4 was actually a constant (this makes sense, because hanging chad always does its thing twice for the 1st card, not the rest of the cards you played in scoring) So I let 's' be the number of times a card was scored. s needed to be defined in terms of x, where x is the number of trib triggers. We have the constant 4 currently, but we still need to find something else to get our desired expression. Then I found a pattern: If the trib triggers 3 times on the 1st card, then the 1st card scores 5 times (1 naturally, 2 from HC and 2 from BP) But if the trib triggers 4 times, the 1st card scores 3 times, implying that we have 0 BP's on the hanging chad like you said. This BP moves to the trib, so the amount of trib triggers goes up by 1. So I tried seeing what would happen if there were 2 trib triggers, and turns out, the 1st card scores 7 times, but this can only happen if we had 2 BP's on the hanging chad, or 2 hanging chads and 1 BP which roffle could theoretically have during his run if he found negatives of them. Using this assumption, if we keep reducing the number of trib triggers we get by 1 (and stopping at 1 because we don't want 0 tribs being triggered), the amount of times we score on the first card increases by 2. Now we have an arithmetic sequence! Starting at 9, then 7, 5, 3 and finally 1. Using the arithmetic sequence formula nth term of sequence = a + (n - 1)d where a is the first term and d is the common difference, we get 9 + (n - 1)(-2), which simplifies to -2n + 11 Also, n = x here, because of the relationship between trib triggers and number of times the 1st card scores. _Also_ also, we can represent this relationship with a linear equation as well, where the gradient is -2 and the y - intercept is 11. Therefore s = 4 + (-2x + 11) , which is 15 - 2x hurray
33:39 fun fact, with how shops work, he still would've gotten the triboulet on the next shop, shops are rolled in a set order per seed, just like any booster pack
I feel like a Lucky 9's build could theoretically work with Cloud 9 and bootstraps/bull alongside something like a constellation for mult, but you're gonna have a really rough time making the stars align for that
Not backseat, just a question. Would it be economically better to copy sock 3 times, rather then once for the extra lucky hits and gold seals, and as the trib still gets resets on the extra hits? If not, why is it better to spread?
Idk what you mean about the trib getting resets, but copying sock is def better for Econ and when he has the headroom optimal play is definitely doing that. Copying the tribs is better for scoring though
I’m confused, why not always have them all copy sock? Don’t the retriggers retrigger the triboulet anyway but also retrigger the gold seals a bunch more? Or do I not understand how it works
it's a thing of higher base (trib) to lower power (triggers) vs the opposite. There's a sweet middle spot that's about an even distribution for high score, but when you want to farm some money you do all the retriggers to do the gold seals over dedicating some copies to scoring (trib)
this is how I think of it: so there's a sock, trib, 2 brainstorms and 2 blueprints. if you do 4 retriggers of trib and nothing on sock, that's 4x1=4. but if you do 3 tribs and 2 socks, that's 3x2=6. it's best to get the number of copied abilities as close as possible to maximize scores. however, I would agree to copy all socks when he was getting gold seals :)
