The movie is a tamil movie. It’s a love story between a Tamil boy and a girl who hails from Kerala (malayali) . The dialogues you hear in between are all Tamil. Some of the songs in the movie have some Malayalam lyrics to portray that the girl is from Kerala. As the other commenters say , this movie is one of ARRs master pieces. And Trisha is one fine actress 🥰

You can classify his compositions like popular( Commercial) songs, underrated songs(way ahead of its time), evergreen songs (Critically Acclaimed songs) , some Overrated songs ex. Jai ho (For indians still its overrated ) Would be happy if yu react on his Underrated compositions.

The music from this movie is absolutely beautiful. Please react to Hosanna and Mannipaaya from this movie. Also the movie itself is a damn good one. It was made in Tamil and Telegu simultaneously with an interesting actor interchange of roles. I personally prefer the Tamil version. It was later remade in Hindi too, but that one isn't very good.
This movie is made in Tamil and Telugu.In Tamil Shimbu is the main lead and he is a director in the movie and he is making a movie which has Nag Chaitanya as a lead actor.In Telugu roles are reversed,it has Naga Chaitanya as director and Shimbu as an actor which is being directed by Naga Chaitanya.Shimbu is more experienced as an actor,Trisha is awesome always.ARR is the God of compositions and only he can do justice to such songs.Pls watch the movie,it's a clean movie with no complications
Alphonse is a malayali singer and AR Rahman picked him to sing this song as the lyrics has got both tamil and malayalam wordings, some of the scenes included Kerala as a location and it became an absolute hit. This song wasnt planned by Rahman earlier. But then he insisted on creating a song in a genre that wasn’t heard before and that’s how this song was made. I have listened possibly a thousand times to this magnificent composition that weaves between a Roger Waters-esque guitar, Carnatic classical (sung in a faster pace with a frenetic violin) and rock folk bluesy singing by Alphone who is an accomplished Carnatic trained musician. Blows my mind each time. I will once again urge you guys to just listen to the music alone, as good as Gautam Menon is in using music to tell his story. The dialogue in between drowns the magic of the interludes. The tempo of the songs ramps up imperceptibly and the finale is a fabulous seamless confluence of genres.. I can go on and on about this song…and ARR’s eternal musicality

This was a Tamil movie that was remade twice after this. Those actors who were playing those characters were then in the Telugu version of the film. Rehman did the music of all three films.. plz plz plz react to omana penne.. that's amazing as well.
Actually, it wasn't a remake in Telugu. Both, the Tamil and Telugu versions were shot simultaneously with the respective actors and both got released on the same day. Then, the same director remade it in Hindi after a couple of years

Great song.. But maybe its time to explore beyond AR Rahman and Amit Trivedi. There are many more creators and music that are coming out of the other parts of India, I am sure you will love to hear. Maybe the selection team can move aside their personal preferences and help you out with it. Dont hate me for saying this, but its just my feeling and I think I can share that freely with you guys. There is no personal preference when it comes to choosing a video. The only thing we take a look are RUclips and Twitter suggestions. We are baised towards content that will not get copyrighted or blocked. Also if a video does well, supposed the songs from I, Ritviz, Tushar Lall, Berklee, etc. Korbin will want to do them more often. It's not like we don't explore other artists, they reacted to a song from SVF and got a copyright strike so we can't send SVF songs until we get permission. But I can assure you that there is no personal interest in anyone from the team. Infact we try and convince Korbin to try new stuff if he doesn't want to. 😄

Guys, you should watch the live version of this song. The singer, Alphonse, he just kills it every time.
I have listened possibly a thousand times to this magnificent composition that weaves between a Roger Waters-esque guitar, Carnatic classical (sung in a faster pace with a frenetic violin) and rock folk bluesy singing by Alphone who is an accomplished Carnatic trained musician. Blows my mind each time.
I will once again urge you guys to just listen to the music alone, as good as Gautam Menon is in using music to tell his story. The dialogue in between drowns the magic of the interludes.
The tempo of the songs ramps up imperceptibly and the finale is a fabulous seamless confluence of genres..
I can go on and on about this song…and ARR’s eternal musicality

Actually, it wasn't a remake in Telugu. Both, the Tamil and Telugu versions were shot simultaneously with the respective actors and both got released on the same day. Then, the same director remade it in Hindi after a couple of years

There is no bad song from a r rahman., he just takes at least 3 to 6 months to compose a single song...thats why he's songs are evergreen..
Composing will take only a week or two but layering of orchestration and instrumentation with improvisation goes on and on even aftet recording the song

Great song.. But maybe its time to explore beyond AR Rahman and Amit Trivedi. There are many more creators and music that are coming out of the other parts of India, I am sure you will love to hear. Maybe the selection team can move aside their personal preferences and help you out with it. Dont hate me for saying this, but its just my feeling and I think I can share that freely with you guys. Will always love you OSR.
There is no personal preference when it comes to choosing a video. The only thing we take a look are RUclips and Twitter suggestions. We are baised towards content that will not get copyrighted or blocked. Also if a video does well, supposed the songs from I, Ritviz, Tushar Lall, Berklee, etc. Korbin will want to do them more often.
It's not like we don't explore other artists, they reacted to a song from SVF and got a copyright strike so we can't send SVF songs until we get permission.
But I can assure you that there is no personal interest in anyone from the team. Infact we try and convince Korbin to try new stuff if he doesn't want to. 😄
Also I saw that you requested that they react to Fossils. None of their famous songs have a music video. It's just a slideshow kind of video. They can't react to that. Now if you talk about fossils, you will find numerous videos that are recorded or on other channels/shows where they are performing.. Recently i saw a shreya ghosal video where she performed live and it was recorded, i saw a Salman Ali Live recording video.. so i am sure there are many such videos of other musicians which is accessible.

I know gujarati, Punjabi and Bengali are under represented, but it's just that at the end of the day Korbin makes the choice. We have put Rabindrasangeet songs on the list and other thing but because he doesn't see the video title and think, I have seen this in the comments. He doesn't pick that. Ki reaction chash bol ?
