I think it's refreshing to hear Scriabin not played as if the pianist was off to a fire. Yes, this is a fast and hard piece, but he manages to let us hear more to all of the notes. Wonderful! Thanks and best
This is how I always imagined this piece. The left-hand semi-q's are more a brooding atmosphere underpinning the haunting melody than filigree virtuosity for its own sake. Enjoyed this immensely.
This interpretation by Trifonov, literally gives me chills , the virtuoso velocity in the melodic contours is nothing less than simply a genius pinnacle of art.
I think it is too fast. Only the beginning is an exception. In general, Scriabin is played too fast too often, thereby bluring a lot of his compositions' intrinsic polyphony. And the from 0:30 to at least 0:45 it is supposed to be "ppp".....
Scriabin’s written tempo marking is dotted quarter = 84. Trifonov plays closer to 70 here. I think only Richter comes close to Scriabin’s tempo. 84 does not seem humanly possible.
j'ai l'habitude de voir les musiciens bien vetus mais là c'est surprenant de le voir mais j'aime beaucoup sa tenue car ce qui compte c'est son interprétation magnifique
This is definitely an impressive interpretation! Trifonov certainly gave us a very delicate touch to the melody line. What's more is that the whole picture, the light and shadow, accompanied with the concrete wall background and his choice of costume, further strengthen the solitude in the music.
This recording of this piece made me shed tears for the first time because of music, has changed my musical sensibilities completely and has given me an existential fear as if I've wasted my life on other music. This isn't the best piece of music there is, but I dare say it's at least pretty good, and it ranks very high on my list.
totally the best interpretation ever of the 2 measures starting at 1:52. It's not what Scriabin wrote, since the section should be linked to the next one in diminuendo, but who cares if the effect he delivers is so powerful, and of great inspiration!
Как хороша педаль! В меру, не как обычно используют в Скрябине, -- и какую сразу это даёт графичность фактуре! Просто здорово! И какой нерв! Наверное, это и есть истинное лицо Скрябина. Очень классно!
I like his starting almost PENSIVELY and then building up to an apex of passion. His very sparing use of the pedal is excellent, one can hear every note!
Daniil, tocas con mucha pasión. Es increíble verte y escucharte. Cuando te veo interpretar a Rachmaninof, se me congela la sangre. Sin duda eres para mí, uno de los mejores pianistas del mundo.
This makes me feel like aim on a ship in a stormy sea, maybe it’s the lighting in the room but I feel like there’s something in the texture that trifonov is creating with the piece that reminds me of rolling waves
Excellent interpretation of a great Scriabin piece. Love his etudes and of course his Fantasy which is an icon of piano music. Not to mention those sonatas which must be so difficult to play. And Daniil’s streetwear look is good - was going to say refreshing but that would be trite. Always like it when one’s self presentation catches people off guard.
Great interpretation. A bit faster than I’m used to, but I love how he brought out the melody in the central section. Was really shocked by the length of his nails though, but then noticed he seem to play with the bottom/pads of his fingers which is a bit unusual. Interesting how many of the great pianists have unusual styles of playing that might be considered “wrong” by the traditional school of thought, but it works for them.
Great control with the sextuplets motifs using the escapement instead of the pedal. Having a big handspan with skinny fingers helps with this piece especially for that awkward 10th where the sextuplets come in.
@@thebrygi1648 When you press down on a piano key there is a 2 or 3 millimetre gap on the key before any sound is made.Playiing within the escapement give you greater control over tone.It is extremely hard to do.Try playing a chord pressing gently noticing the gap when you first press. It is effective for repeated notes and pianissimos
How do you like Scriabin?
Played by Daniil Trifonov, in every way
Deutsche Grammophon love it!
YES!!!!
I adore Scriabin. A complete Etudes set by Trifonov coming up?
let's see....the next album has not been officially announced yet...but it is coming!
I think it's refreshing to hear Scriabin not played as if the pianist was off to a fire. Yes, this is a fast and hard piece, but he manages to let us hear more to all of the notes. Wonderful! Thanks and best
Too many of the notes. It's as if he doesn't feel the melody is important enough. It's good playing, sure, but not convincing to me
If you think this performance is good, check your standards. They’ve fallen very very low
Why does Trifonov look different every time I see him
Ikr right lmao
@@liebesleid He's a hip young guy besides being a top-tier concert pianist. He plays this beautifully!

Finally an intepretation that is not played too quickly! And the clean sound in the 2nd part of the beginning is marvellous.

Trifonov my favourite pianist since 2010 🙏🏻 He has something special, the depth only a musically obsessed can feel.
Scriabin is like a drug. Once discovered, all piano music can only be compared to that state. ruclips.net/video/D7PLSVzRGMk/видео.html
I like his style. Can he do parkour?
And Keep playing at the same time.
yes with his hands
Scriabin is the parkour
So ahead of his time- a quarantine beard but in 2019
Noah Alden Hardaway, piano , you can hear him hear on RUclips play the piece wearing a mask.
This is great...perhaps his next recording can be an all-Scriabin album? Would anyone else love to hear him do Sonata #5?
Back in 2008 he played it at a competition. The vid is on youtube
I heard it 1 month ago in korea
I'd love to hear it. Also sonatas #5, #6, #9 and the Piano Concerto
I would absolutely love to. Scriabin 5 sounds different everytime someone different plays it, just like this etude
I can't stop listening to this. And RUclips keeps recommending this in my homepage and I always click on this.
it’s so refreshing to see classical music performed by someone in casual clothes

Trifonov is an incredible pianist.
One can but bow in awe to such a performance.
