- BBC Presenter Stephen Sackur was seen making questionable interventions in his latest episode of HARDtalk programme in which he interviewed Palestinian ambassador to UK, Husam Zomlot.
Rifat Jawaid, himself a former BBC colleague of Stephen Sackur, raises questions on how the presenter conducted himself in this interview.
Note: We’ve used a reasonable portion of videos from the HARDtalk programme for the purpose of commentary and critiquing.

At Glastonbury music festival in the UK, the BBC refused to air performances by artists who showed overt support to Palestine. If I was being generous I would say they are trying to remain objective and not favour one side over the other... but the 'both sides' argument no longer holds much water. It's clear the BBC are not interested in relaying the true horror of the situation.

If there is a genocide happening, and a journalist fails to tell their audience that a genocide is happening, then that journalist is complicit, and should be tried and jailed for their crimes.

He can’t seem to distinguish between its military wing (Al Qassam Brigades) and its political bureau. Nor can he distinguish between Hamas and the many other resistance factions.
It’s really worth learning about. But if you know nothing about the experience of a person or group of people, then what is the use of trying to hazard a guess at their mindset? Might as well guess the mindset of your cat. Completely useless.

@@That_Freedom_Guy me too. I only started learning about Hamas and Palestine after Oct 7th. I was literally dizzy for weeks when I saw my own bias and racist beliefs, that is been educated I to ignorance and a belief in western supremacy.
A great book to read with amazing appendices (writings by Hamas including their 2005 political platform) is Hamas: A history from within By Azzam Tamimi. I had seen him speak in a podcast, and looked up his book. It was hard to find…I found it in a second hand book dealer in the uk and had it shipped to canada (couldn’t find it here).
There’s a lot of documentaries online too. Especially after the 2014 war, the most deadly war (assault) on Gaza until last year.
I swear, if people just read the appendices, they would see Hamas in a completely different light…and gain so much understanding about what they stand for, and what they are trying to achieve. These are the documents suppressed in the west and media. But they are absolutely verifiable.
Who is defending the innocent men, women and children of Gaza , or more importantly, who has the right to defend the Palestinians?.... or should the slaughter and genocide be allowed to continue? It's already obvious, nobody is allowed to defend them. Unlike the world over, where men stand up to defend their families, their wives , their children.... this is not allowed in Gaza. The men of Gaza have no right to defend their families. Otherwise, they are called terrorists and Israel knows too well how to deal with suspected terrorists. It's a no win for the innocent in Gaza.
