This guy has such comprehensive, concise and helpful videos. Great work. 🙂 I'd love to see one that goes through different synth sounds used in different genres/eras. One that I can't figure out is how to replicate the sound a transformer makes (buzzing voltage sound).
Was just watching this and the preceding modulation video in the series to try tackling this again. This series gave me so much - so my suggestion for new synth clips - as requested by the video - is just to request more synth clips. I love Daniel's other Sweetwater synth videos - but I think it's great to keep the more educational/less promotional ones under this series! If Daniel's too busy hire @Loopop to take over!
ABSOLUTELY love Hydra. one hell of a performance synth. Those macros (a "complex" mod matrix using human interface as a "source") are SUPER-powerful. Thanks Dan for inspiring the up n' coming synthesists with great examples
Thanks again for a very useful video - I have tried following along with my Hydrasynth and it is worth noting that by default on an INIT patch the mod wheel is set to control the vibrato - this can be switched off in page two of the Voice settings (Vib amount 0) otherwise by the time you add LFO 1 you already have two LFOs affecting pitch! Keep up the great work!
Hi Dad Turner. I forgot that I keep all of my empty INIT slots filled with my customized version of INIT, which has the default Mod Wheel to Vibrato amount set to zero. Thanks for watching! -_Daniel_
HYDRA Tip: use the Macro BUTTONS to get some cool instant/useful changes (potentially EIGHT destination mods in a single toggle!) you can also change the behaviour of the macro buttons in settings, don't forget. Also, bonus macro magic from the killer manual: Hold INIT button and tweak a knob for it to INSTANTLY jumpvto 0 value. I don't think i need to bring up the massivve performance potential here :) have FUN Hydra-ing
Hello Daniel Fisher, thank you so much for sharing Synth Clips; it is very helpful! I have ideas for further series... Perhaps you can show interaction between synthesizers and different DAW like Ableton or Cubase? Another interesting topic would be the interaction between modular synthesizers and Hydrasynth or another semimodular Synthesizer (i.e. Can you simply connect Hydrasynth with a Doepfer spring reverb?) I also think it would be interesting to get to know more about the CV tool from Ableton to control synthesizers. I think that integrating several synthesizers to a music project can be quite difficult. Thanks for your help 😃 Florian
I'm only three minutes in so idk if he expands on this but the idea of *multiplying* is important. That is differentiated from *adding* in a key way. Think of multiplying as turning up the volume of a modulator while adding is shifting it. A more accurate way to think of adding is to *sum* the modulators.
Hi Sakrament. The features that will be very difficult to find elsewhere are the Polyphonic Aftertouch (that also simultaneously sends Channel Aftertouch), and the Ribbon Controller (which can play notes by itself, or control many other things all at once). Obviously the Desktop version is more affordable, but I think you'd really miss having the Poly Aftertouch and Ribbon. Thanks for watching! -_Daniel_
Thanks for checking out this episode of Synth Clips on Complex Modulations! Don't miss the next episode🔥Like, comment, and subscribe for more!

Fire! Another nice synth upload (as per usual) 🎹💜
Thanks Daniel
Thanks Daniel, great as always. Good to see the Hydrasynth getting an outing, I’m still loving mine!
Thanks for sharing Daniel !! Outstanding series 👍🏻

Love this series, most importantly I love the hydrasynth that I got from you guys!
Once again, gold. Thanks a lot !

Thank you, Florian. I will put your suggestions on the list. -_Daniel_
24 videos in, and this settles it: I'm buying a Hydrasynth 😁

Great video as always Daniel. Can you do some videos on the prophet 5 preferably a deep dive and some videos on fm synthesis please? Love these videos
Hi gose salvadori. My Synth Clips videos on FM should start appearing sometime in the late spring of 2021. Thanks for watching! -_Daniel_
What is the difference to a midi keyboard? What should I get..? for producing
MIDI keyboard has no sounds to it. You have to use an external program, another synth or program from your computer
Thank you *-* can I record the synths to my DAW also?
@@SARAH-pk5cc yes, most use a 1/4 inch audio cable. You will need an audio interface as well
@@davidvnthony thank you xo *_*
many thanks!
You're welcome! -_Daniel_
Learned something
Is there a more affordable version of the ASM hydrasynth keyboard? Asking for a friend

There is now - the battery powered one!
Great, thanks...
