Enough time has passed, Under Night In Birth 2 just surpassed Kagura Bachi in sales, can we now all admit that Under Night In Birth 2 is 1000% peak fiction?
I really hope the game rebounds, theres four times as many people playing Tekken 7 than there are playing UNI2 on steam rn. It has been really fun learning this game
Sadly the damage is done. Lot of the player base has already left. Also, only people that seem to be playing are the high level player base. I had nothing but these type of players challenging me and tbh I got tired of it. Also, the game isn't entirely fixed. The game still crashes under certain circumstances such as using the "kick" function. There is also a new issue where controls behave strangely for no reason and resetting the pc is the only way to fix it (I had issues where I couldn't even air dash from specific sides for no reason nor was it reading my half cicle forward inputs for the super. Never had this happen before pre-update). Still have had a frustrating experience with this game as I am not able to learn with people my skill level as opposed to Tekken 8 where it's been way better.
Same thing happened with the ps4 pc release of p4au. Online was pretty bad on release and high level players were plentiful. No rollback was gonna save that game.
@@sonicshot55 Yeah established games are never good for new players. It's usually just a death sentance for the game and for the newbies. People don't want to come online just to be someone's personal punching bag. If you think about it, the high level players are a big part of the problem with a game growing because of the gatekeeping. So in a sense, they are dooming their own game.
The population numbers aren't looking very good, but as a new player I do feel like most of my games are against other noobs and I've played just a few games against people who seem legitimately good. I think people can come across as more experienced than they are in games like this with flashy combos, but it's pretty clear a lotta fellas on matchmaking are just using mission combos and otherwise are learning the game. Weirdly enough I do think t8 still has a lot of legacy players in low ranks.
@@steeplewiththesnakes I can see the skill difference in UNIEL 2 and Tekken 8. Tekken 8 is all over the place and feels good to be able to fight a variety of player skill. But you should be able to tell a really good player when he just reads you like a book and counters everything. UNIEL 2 most of my matches were like that. I couldn't do anything but block and wait. This game requires you to respect everyone's moves too much. Gaps are minimal and pressure is very one sided.
one week is not reasonable for as bad of a state it was in. The player base at this point is shot on PC. Having no beta and clearly had to of known the state of the PC version and yet released it anyways is baffling
It’s so sad it had to have a shit PC launch man, was hoping Uni could finally pop off. I’m really hoping they completely fix it by Evo. Maybe that’ll give it the boost it needs.
Unfortunately, my trust with French Bread on PC has been broken. Which is a shame because Kaguya ended up being my favorite character in the game. I had hope that French Bread would've learn their mistake with Type Lumina, but they did not. Hopefully they hire someone else to fix the PC port for them or they learn how to do it properly themselves. Man, UNI2 could've been my favorite fighting game of the year.... A shame, really
Type Lumina had other problems (mainly the gameplay but the issues with crashing and net code were a problem too.) The dumbed down nature of Type Lumina especially with the ridiculous RPS system imo just ruined the game. If they do a season 2 or revision 2 of Type Lumina, they better adjust that gameplay pronto.
@@HGhaleon I am pretty sure they did fixed how annoying the shield is several months later, but by that point it was already too late and people already lost interested.
@@oturan9728 Still think the shield mechanic isn't the way it should be. The whole RPS thing with it is just silly. Wish it just functioned more like an actual parry like in the older games.
Bought it yesterday (no uni experience before)and got mauled by one good player after 5 minutes waiting in casual. Today i'll try againg but i doubt i will b able to learn it just by mission mode if theres no player base. Btw HOW CAN I CHANGE MY ID NAME??? Thanks in advance.
There’s a player base but yeah, the skill gap makes it discouraging for newer players to stay on ranked for long. Join us when we play on stream!! We’ll make sure you have a fun time :)
Well, when you have People want to do crap shit like Data Mining & trying to Crack Bata's to unlock the full Game of other Games, Developers don't want to take their chances on PC. Plus, not every PC is the same. They all have different parts, so People should know that it's going to take more time to work things out to get it to work properly... especially for a small budget studio like French Bread. It's just easier to get it to for for Consoles. All PS5 & PS4's all have the same parts inside unlike PC's. But low brain cell Gamers just can't wait. & yes all games should work right from the jump but that isn't the case. Just glad it's working now for everyone. This isn't my main game, but it's already became my favorite Anime Fighting Game ever. & I don't really like Anime that much.
A beta would have helped but the issues with this port seemed more like the external porting team simply didn’t test it. Bugs on release day are normal but it seems like a lot of this was preventable even without a beta.
Problem is that the PC port was in charge of Cyclone Zone, an infamous company for making crappy PC ports. Also, UNI2 got the money from ArcSys, so I call BS to that "small budget studio". I already defended FrenchBread a lot in the past, update their fricking game engine already!
I wish this game the best
