I totally agree with you. Everebody talks about power and stuff like that but never of the moment of sweetness that are magical and so soft and delicate. That's what I love about her: all the colors and dimension that she puts with her voice (the dynamyc, (de)crescendo,...).

Lara switches languages easily as she is just breathing. In her concerts she uses to speak with the audience in 3 languages almost at the same time, she starts a phrase in French and ends in Italian, or from Spanish to English. Even her music is pretty much language mixed, she has songs half in French and half in English, Half in Spanish and half in Italian. :) also, she said that she uses to dream in different languages (Italian, English and French). Thank you.

When I was studying in Germany, I related a dream I had to my newly former German teacher whom I was newly dating **cough** that was in German. (There were also polyglot beavers who had just swum over from NY, but that's neither here nor there. . .) Mein Freund said that dreaming in a language was a sign one is fluent. Bzzz. Not in my case. Not by a long shot. But Fabian? Yeah, I can see that. I've seen her just jump in and out and carry on conversations in different languages. Her facility is massively impressive.

If you're interested, here starting at 1:03:00 (one hour, three min) she talks about the struggle of being an artist, a storyteller who is honest but . . .wants to maintain some privacy. And how she came to grips with her family truth which is such a nearly universal human experience and the freedom of giving that gift of her words/melody to others experiencing the same.

The writer of this song, Lucio Dalla (from Bologna, northern Italy), wrote this while staying in one of the rooms where Enrico Caruso, former famous tenor (From Neaples, southern Italy), spent the final days of his life. Caruso was 48-years-old when he died, and a few years before Caruso died, he married Dorothy Park Benjamin who was 20 years younger. They had a baby girl they named Gloria. Lucio Dalla wrote this song while imagining how Caruso, who knew he was dying, would have said goodbye to his young wife - the love of his life.
curiosity: in sicilian dialect the word caruso means (ragazzo) boy.

It is an often repeated rumor that there has been.a concerted effort to limit her distribution in the U.S. by a certain sharp elbowed DIVA who in spite of her own superstardom will or cannot be generous but sees her as a threat and competition.Magnaminity would only enhance one's true talents. karma karma karma

I totally agree about the loud-soft singing. Dynamics are what make a good performer great (or a poor one better). As a graphic artist, I have always appreciated contrast and as a musical artist I always look for that as well. Millions of people can sing...loudly, even on pitch . Noise is not art...even "powerful", on pitch noise. To create art from music requires that contrast and the use of non-verbals, body movements, etc. is something very, very few can do. The focus on "belting" is ruining many good singers, I'm afraid. Without the passion, the intimacy, the pianissimo enunciation, the "belts" lose their effect.
