    What I like about Mrs. Mellon's way of decorating is that she kept a very "lived in" feeling. Not the kind that looks like it is in a museum. Her style is homey yet elegant; comfortable yet tasteful; understated yet unmistakably upper-class. I think her style personified someone who had an unshakable self-confidence and understandably so given that she was born into wealth and married into even greater wealth.

    Charlotte Moss is absolutely amazing - what a gracious, lovely, talented woman she is. I know this is about Bunny M, but I can't help feeling huge admiration for the narrator and all she has accomplished. Plus, I never knew what a lovely voice she has. Ms. Moss, your books are fantastic - please write more!

    a few years ago when i was obsessed with reading all about MM , I somehow came across some biographies on JFK and Jackie , and i found this fascinating book titled Dropped Names by Frank Langella, and in this book was a few chapters and stories about Bunny Mellon who was Jackie's best friend and it was so interesting to hear about these 2 ladies and the friendship they shared.

    Sotheby's should do more in the Netherlands.
    Buying a big estate instead of a building in central Amsterdam.
    Then on the estate organize auctions and have some other activities like a bar/ restaurant with a terrace and a nice view.
    Make it a event to buy in a nice surrounding.
    But who am I to say ✋🙂

    LOL! "Empathy for objects." Don't think about the fact that her wealth came from the Mellon fortune, which famously wasn't built with any kind of empathy for people. I like interior design but christ, think about what you're saying!

    If she hadn't been rich and well known and those objects purchased at Target, she would be called a hoarder and no one would be talking about what great "style'" and "taste" she had. Also, if my initials were "BM", I would never monogram that on anything (same with "BO", "PU", "IT" or "FU")

    • @danielbillingsley74
      @danielbillingsley74 5 лет назад +25

      ilovebeinagirl You obviously have NO idea what the clinical definition of hoarding is. This is nothing. Hoarding is an anxiety driven disorder that traps people. You’re just jealous of her wealth and taste. The fact is Mrs. Mellon was also an incredible philanthropist. This collection is remarkable and your comment shows nothing but contempt for someone you never met. And your rude comments about her initials also show where your mind is.
