Over our past five years of friendship, Emily has confessed to me many times that she has visited my site, watched my wedding films for hours, and cried. Of course, when she met Ryan and things started getting serious, I began hoping that I would be able to add Emily's wedding to my list of wedding films too.
As a twist though, these two Texas born and raised Aggies opted for a less-traditional wedding option. With only their closest friends and family, they road-tripped all the way from the heat of Texas to Nashville, Tennessee, for an intimate wedding in the forested countryside. There, they shared letters and vows, dinner and dancing, and many quiet moments together.
My wife and I loved getting away to a city where music was king, the chicken was hot, and the weddings were lit (I think that's what the kids are saying these days). Nashville has joined the likes of Portland as one of our favorite cities to visit, and we hope to return and film another wedding there soon.
If you are getting married in Texas, Tennessee, or anywhere else for that matter, we would love to chat about filming your wedding! Please get in touch at www.filmstrong.com

Love this Matt!! great job on the edit but what I like the mot is all the nat sound in the film. subtle but makes it so much better.
+Genesis Media Solutions thanks! Was a lot of work in post but I like how the audio turned out 😁
+Matt WhoisMatt Johnson AMAZING!!! I´m a photographer and I never consider to do video until I fund your channel. Sadly in my country(I´m from Argentina), the paycheck It´s 1/3 of the pay in the US and the gear is 4 times more expensive so I'm starting with 1080p in DSLRs for now.Pd: Sorry for my English
Thanks Esteban! I shot 1080p until last year. Focus more on learning lighting and audio before you increase your video quality.
+Matt WhoisMatt Johnson Thank You!
AWESOMEEEEEEE!!!!

+JRESHOW thank you!

+MySaw thank you!
inspiring
+andrewsfury thank you! 👍🏼
Hey, Matt! Great video, brother.
I was wondering if maybe one day you could put together a behind the scenes video of you while you are working.
I learn a lot from your channel but also learn visually with example. I feel like seeing how you interact behind the camera, how you switch gear (from steadicam to tripod, setting up sound, etc) and, I suppose, just seeing what an average wedding process goes for you would benefit quite a lot of people.
I know this would be double the amount of work, but if it's something you and your team ever get around to, I'd really be keen to learn, as I'm excited to get into wedding videography. Thanks, mate.
+Bobby Hicks thanks Bobby! I'm planning on doing some stuff like this in the future 😁 thanks!
Was the forest part of the video located at Cedarwood as well? Awesome video!
Yup! All at cedarwood (other than the intro at the bridge in downtown Nashville lol)
Your work is brilliant. Would love to do something similar but with my gym videos.
+MuffinManMedia gym weddings! Yes! Do it!
The edit, how you put together all the clips ... really good, goals for me ... how long did you shot weddings to get upto this level.
+nevin xavier thanks Nevin! I've been shooting for about 7 years.
WOW
+paolollo 17 thanks! 😄
How much do you get for a video like this? Nice job btw
+diradosveta TOP 10 CZ haha bit of a rude question? This one was a bit different because the couple helped pay for travel.
was it? sorry didnt mean to. i mean i could have written an email to you saying that im interested in your work and that i want you to shoot my wedding just to know how much it costs. that would be rude. :p didnt know it was something secret, sorry man. i never understood the logic behind this. why is it secret or rude considering the fact that you share your work online? i couldnt care less how much do you earn personally. i dont even know you in person. but whatever. im just curious cuz im from central europe and we get like zero point nothing for shooting weddings.
In the UK photograhers (poor ones at that) make £800-£1500. Videographers get a sausage roll and a lift to the reception if they're lucky. Time to switch to photography, which is so much easier and less time consuming - 15 hours editing tops versus 40 hours editing video.
No picture can compare to a film like this, though. Idc how good you are, one frame is one frame. You can only capture so much with one frame. Happiness? Sure. Infatuation? Possibly. But no picture can capture the story that a film like this can. The mixture of visuals, sound, and story come together to make people feel something that no single picture can. To me, (and hopefully to many others who understand the value of cinema) film makers should be paid more for their effort to make something like this. I don't discredit photography, in fact I'm intrigued by the fact that someone can do great things with only 1 frame. Something I've never really been able to do well. But if people understand the amount of effort it takes to make something like this, wedding videographers would be making triple what photographers make, especially because of the emotional value of a movie like this.
Hey Matt, great work as always! Do you use ND filters or just crank up the shutter for your outside shots?
+Canaan Barger hey Canaan! I try to always use nd filters. Here's a video I made about my usual nd filter that I use: ruclips.net/video/nNQklaHbdi4/видео.html
Thanks! I think that's the ONE video of yours that I skipped because I saw lens adapter in the title and I already have a metabones adapter. I didn't even notice that "ND" was part of the title of the adapter. Thanks for the help!
great color grading, which lut is ?
+Robbie RG Commercial thanks, check out IWLTBAP and Deluts
thanks dude ;)
Hey Matt
I really love the color grade. I would love to emulate that look into my films but wouldn't knownwhere to start as I am clueless with color grading. Is there something you'd suggest for canon users?
+Matt Shamloo thanks Matt! I would check out Denver Riddle at Color Grading Central’s tutorials. He has some fantastic color grading resources.
Nice video, what kind of camera did u use? And lens?
+chalos chicles A7sii with Sigma art lenses.
very nice! what song at 0:51?
Thanks! Songs are in the description :)
