They didn't know that this was their last EVER performance though. They were told in a meeting after they'd finished the recordings/tapings, right? The producers wanted to renew for 2 more seasons but a lot of the older cast wanted to leave apparently so they cancelled the show.
soggyfroggy That's what happened and to this day I still can't see why they couldn't just do 2 more seasons cause the show was pretty good. The older cast wanted to leave for other things while the younger cast (Justin,Britney,Christina,Nikki,Ryan, and T.J) didn't want it to end and do you think it would appeal to this generation if they made a new one?
Tbh, i'm glad they ended it there. I think it was the older cast that carried the show and without them it would've massively fizzled out. I don't think the younger cast could've brought something new as the show already had it's identity.
I watched this as it aired in the 1990s. I’m surprised none of these people are famous these days! They’re all great singers and performers! Except for JC Chasez, former member of NSYNC.
This was the final episode of MMC, it was taped on October 22,1994 and aired on March 7,1996 from what I read the on Wikipedia I'm not sure if it's true the series finale may have aired in November 1995. From what I do know according to MMC e true Hollywood story, the Disney channel brought the cast members in the office for a meeting without their parents and told them that the show was cancelled after 7 seasons.
The second half of season 7 has 1995 at the end credits, while the first half has 1994 on it. Chasen Hampton said once that they only taped one or two shows a week that season, and it has 44 episodes. Are you sure it was finished filming in 1994 or was it done in 1995? Anyone been to a taping of the show that year who can confirm this? Episode 28 was filmed in Oct of 1994 according to another credible source. So I doubt it was done filming in 1994.
+TheMMCchannel that's a mystery to me I'm still trying to figure out. From a source on the MMC Facebook group one person said that they were at the final episode taping on a post where I talk about the final season. Disney Channel should show reruns of all 7 seasons MMC, they showed it on Labor day 1999 but I never got the chance to see it
Also, in previous seasons they would film the first half of a season in the summer/early autumn, and later the second half in winter/spring. Season 1 filmed in 1988 and aired in the spring of 1989. Season 2 was filmed in spring/summer of that year and aired near the end of that year. Season 3 aired the first half in autumn of 1990 and the second half in 1991. Season 5 was the same in 1992/1993.
Correction, Ep 28 was filmed September the 2nd of 1994. Here is a photo showing the timestamp: plus.google.com/u/0/116264235113868535593/photos/photo/6091934518395546850?pid=6091934518395546850&oid=116264235113868535593
Oh shit Nikki almost fell over there 1:00 at the staircase. But damn she got back up like nothing happened. She was one of my fave dancers next to Britney
They knew it was the last filming of that season but they didn't know it was the last ever season at that point. Jennifer mentioned that they were told after the completion of the filming. I'm sure they must've heard rumours prior to that though. Plus, many of the older cast were looking to leave at the end of season 7 so I guess they must've known in some ways.
I wanna know why was it cancelled? Cuz the newbies were taken over? It sure seemed like it since Britney and Justin and xtina came on the show the others were being their backup singers or dancers. I remember Rhona used to sing the big artists like Whitney and Toni Braxton songs and then xtina came along Rhona would sing backup to her. I think that's why the show was cancelled cuz the older kids were getting older and the newbies were taking over. That's my theory. I feel like they were like it's our show now. And I noticed the veterans were left in the back and they were growing up more and more. I mean they were 18-20. They were like 12/13 when they started the show so they were getting older. And the newbies were still teens or tweens.
Without officially knowing...I think it's mostly because of the age difference and the older cast was now too old...and they were the majority of the cast really. So, if they moved on, they were left with the younger ones, and even though it seemed like they were pushing them forefront, having them wouldn't have been enough to hold the show.
Emotionally this is sad to watch because it was the last MMC episode. I hated the MMC set in Season 7 because it seemed too tight and constricted. Anyways, they could have still continued the show another season even if the older cast wanted to move on and leave.
ExtraChocolate80 I know right, unfortunately this was the final episode which aired March 7,1996 even though most of the 7th and Final Season was taped from May 1994-October 22,1994. This was the first season without the Mouseketeers wear their letterman jackets like they did during the first 6 seasons and it was also the first season where they didn’t have the M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E theme. Also Mickey Mouse was removed from the logo, and the set was changed and performance were done in front of the audience.

My Opinion ...Well we don't have David Cole and Robert Cliviles and we don't have Trilogy or Martha Wash And Zelma Davis. Its very cool to see these kids perform this song live since there is no live performance of C+C (Cliviles & Cole) doing Do You Wanna Get Funky because sadly the next year CoFounder David Cole died from spinal meningitis so sadly not But I also it was rushed And its sad since these kids are talented but its to rushed But it is still awesome
The stylist and choreographer deserve a round of applause. Awesome performance!
Definitely 🙌🏾!!!
Rhona had the best voice on the show
it’s definitely jc actually
@@bbybby911 Female: Rhona and Terra, male: Tony and Dale. JC was the best male dancer and the best singer in N'sync.

@@mcren6781 no, not at all. Having a strong voice doesn't make you a "better" singer than a person with less range

Rhona, Nita, Dale and Ricky was killing it
Rhona was amazing!

What is the dance move called if you don't mind my asking?
wow nita great voice
An incredible song, yeah get funky with me please!
If this really was the last episode I would have been crying before and especially after this performance.

Yes.

this song is way too adult for Disney...just sayin
If older Mouseketeers wanted to leave, they could’ve just held nationwide auditions like they’d been doing every 2 years since 1988 🤷🏾♀️
