Richard is the most tragic character I've come across in a while. This video is largely focused on Richard's forbidden love for Henry VI, against the backdrop of a dynastic war and confused self-identity. [Spoiler alert: this video contains clips from episodes 1 through 20]

The story started as a manga (comic), which inspired three drama CDs, two spin-off manga series, an original novel, a stage play, and an anime television series.

Reviews are mixed from loyal manga fans for how well the anime adapted the source material. But the show does take on a distinct art style that makes it quite unique. This video is but a small sample of what the show has to offer. The pacing of the show is fast, particularly at the beginning.
