Welcome to the Foxhole and now going back to Metal Galaxy era.🦊🤘🌅
Always nice to see more reactors giving this amazing grace another chance, just in case Kingslayer wasn't a BM song, they're just the special guests singing, regardless many fans love it and for me it was definitely the collab of 2020 just like Electric Callboy is the collab of this year with RATATATA, although this time both groups were involved heavily in the making of the song.
Here's a brief info about BM:
BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute) mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal".
    They are:
    *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 26.
*MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24 and next month is her birthday.
*MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 21 and is the new official member since April 1st last year.
-YuiMetal- scream and dance, former member since 2018.
    None of them are related.
After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said.
    About this song:
Metal Galaxy is a wonderful album and full of surprises, you're gonna find many more like this with more mature sound, it came out in 2019 so isn't so new but is one of the songs with more mature sound.
The album version got the collaboration of Polyphia guitarists, and it's quite clear in the solo section.
Tim Henson said when listening to this song that he would love to play this along with BabyMetal on the stage, he didn't know the final cut when he was doing the riffs on this song.
The dance on this song is beautiful and graceful, they're showing another mature side and more complicated choreography. According to MoaMetal is the hardest song to dance along with BxMxC and Night Night Burn iirc.
Song is inspired by certain "City Pop" band and Utada Hikaru songs, when SuMetal heard this she doubt about this being a metal song but then the guitars solo were added and all make senses suddenly.
Finally we got them together on stage and with this awesome live performance, it is their first time performing together.
They did it again last week at Graspop Festival in Belgium and they hug each other at the end just like in this version only thing it was cut out, there's also a proshot clip but I'm not so sure about the sound mix.
Along with RATATATA this was definitely one of the highlights at FOX_FEST and a lot of Japanese fans were looking for, I guess that cool slow pace city pop element gives some nostalgia and that's why many fans love it.
In a recent interview, Tim and Scott talked about a new song in their upcoming album along with BM, let's see what they got but I'm pretty sure it's gonna be something real good like this one.
    Next suggestion:
    - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official MV (2015).
Keep enjoying BM songs and see you next time 🦊🤘🔥

    ⚡ 🍑 💕 / 🌅
    Asu ga mata kuru kara.
(Tomorrow will come, after all) -
It's the chill bop of the Summer.
How could you go wrong with BABYMETAL and the guitarists from Polyphia?
Yes, the song is almost five years old, but this new, live performance shines like the Sun.

This is 2019 song really. But this is 1st time when they perform it together Live. (there was prerecorded Polyphia guitars before).
This song was performed at Budokan 2021 (without Polyphia). U can find a video and compare for urself. 2024 sound better for me, but 2021 vocal was bit better. But it was overproduced. In 2024 u can hear more raw vocals, without mass postproducing.

Even if it is a babymetal song, they always try to stick to the style of the band they are collaborating with, they are a very versatile band and you will never hear a song the same as the previous one.

Absolutely, you hit the nail on the head! Babymetal's versatility is one of their greatest strengths. It's incredible how they can adapt to different styles while still maintaining their unique identity. if you like my content, i would be happy to have you in my youtube family

Great first reaction, welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole.🦊 The song is almost 5 years old. It was on BABYMETAL's Metal Galaxy album released in 2019. It is certainly one of BABYMETAL's more 'chill' songs ... but they do everything.
That's one reason their collaborations all work so well (you know 'Kingslayer' with BMTH, there are more collaborations and featured artists on some of their songs with people like Tom Morello, Electric Callboy, Herman Li and Sam Totman from DragonForce, Joakim Broden from Sabaton, Thai rapper F Hero and the list goes on) as they are so versatile they can do pretty much whatever style and match up with whoever they are collaborating with.
When Polyphia was confirmed on the bill for Fox_Fest (arranged, hosted and headlined by BABYMETAL in Tokyo) we all had a good idea of what would happen.
Tim Henson and Scott le Page provided and recorded the guitar track for the original recording of the song. Fox_Fest was the first chance they all had to meet up and to finally do this very first live performance with them all together.
There is no other band quite like BABYMETAL, so no time like the present to discover more about them.
They were formed and developed around the vocal talents of lead singer Su-metal, but don't let that fool you that the other girls Moametal and Momometal (and the third original girl Yuimetal) are any less talented or less important, they are crucial to what makes them both original and unique.
They have about 70 songs now, each one different to the last. They have songs in virtually every metal genre, but they will also mix and blend so many more musical styles and genres with the metal - and they have introduced choreographed dance to metal as well - but not dance as you may know it from pop acts etc where it is generally used to fill the stage or to give you half dressed girls (or boys) to take your mind off the uninteresting music.
BABYMETAL's choreo is bespoke for each song and it is interpretive, helping us non-Japanese speakers to understand the meaning of the song or a lyric. But it is more than that too, it is designed to involve and include the audience. When the girls jump, pump a fist or make a move, when they chant sing their backing vocals etc the audience follows their lead. They are masters of crowd control and one of the very best live acts on the planet right now.
Their music videos are all very good and worth watching, but BABYMETAl are a live act, their songs are written for live performances and that is where you will see - and most importantly hear - them at their very best.
Just to start you off I will recommend two very different songs, both live at PIA Arena April 2023 - 'Megitsune' and 'Monochrome'.

    Thanks for this reaction.
You are not wrong, it's exactly what Tim had said himself, it's a feature, but it feels like Babymetal created a Polyphia song with Japanese vocals.
I think that's one of the strengths of Babymetal, giving their own interpretation of different styles, genres and sub-genres of music and especially metal.
From the same album their are more examples, for example, I would suggest to react to a live version of: BxMxC and Shanti Shanti Shanti (so not the MV).

An other good song to start with the MV is a fan favorite: Megitsune.

Thank you for your insightful comment! 😊 I totally agree-Babymetal has a unique talent for blending different styles and genres, making each song feel fresh and innovative. Their ability to reinterpret and infuse their distinct flavor into various musical styles is truly one of their strengths.
I'll definitely check out the live versions of BxMxC and Shanti Shanti Shanti

Well this was written for them more than 5 years, and it was so soft that Su wondered if this could really be called metal. Due to this fact it was one of the silent songs in Metal Galaxy. Since they were originally an idol project and the girls were originally terrified by metal the fans were always worried thatvthey would try to get out of metal as fast as they could. But Koba was not this kind of a handler, he thaught how can I interest them to do something for me. And so he had turned them towarfd metal. That 10 to 12 year old girls were not interested in metal was no surprise forbhim instead he tried to determine the elements that terrorized his girls, to avoid them when he wrote songs for them. It was important for them that they felt that Babymetal was their project although they had no real control about it. So they could design their Logo and that they misidentified the Devil Sign as a Kitsune was for him a godsend although Su was obviously worried that one of her fans might really belief in this FoxGod... sobthe title wasbfirst really considered suspicious. They first pulled him up at the second Europe Tour in 2023, when it suddenly was back as an optional Setlist Title, but the usual problems, you would first have tobtry it, and who has time? But aftervall this collabs in the last time it is simply a sign of theirvdiversity to the new fans. And no one should believe that Su or Moa would have to ask anyone if they might start a new song. When one of the girls wanted to do something Koba only wanted to be informed. New Day was always a song that wanted to show Moa and Moa and Momo are much more powerful. So there was obviously a slight rebalancing in the background.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! It's fascinating to learn about the journey Babymetal has taken and how they navigated their transition into the metal genre. The way Koba nurtured their interest and helped them find their footing is truly inspiring.

Easily one of my favorite BABYMETAL songs.
Yes Tim and Scott's instrumentals are a driving force here but for me it is Suzuka's stunning vocal performance and Moa and Momo's beautiful backing vocals that seal it.
Suzuka once again proves that (in my opinion) she is the most versatile and talented female singer today. She just loves to sing and it shows.
