  • This is a British made telescoping treestand. I don't like it and moved it on. It is not very portable, its not very light, the ladder twists and it is very noisy to setup. It can be dangerous to setup on uneven ground and if the ladder moves while trying to rachet it tight 2.4m up you will fall off. Putting your feet on the rung for extended hours hurts.
It is not really designed for a cut and run type hunt. It is more of a setup and use for a couple of week type hunt. The adjustable height is good if you need it. I would rather use a traditional sit and climb or hangon stand.

Thank you for the video. It seemed like a great stand in theory. After watching and reading the comments I think I’ll give this concept a few years to work out the bugs.

I have purchased one of these high seats and had to make several changes to it. Firstly I had to make an extended toothed plate to keep the seat further out of the tree as the back of the seat was too far forward putting one into a forward crouching position. Secondly the securing strap ratchet is positioned too far around the tree making it difficult to use the ratchet. I have shortened this by removing the strap and adding one chain link. Thirdly I have purchased another ratchet strap to secure the ladder half way up as an additional safety measure because the ladder collapsed to the ground when I released the main securing ratchet. Forthly I have changed the top seat rest strap to a ratchet type as the origional one continually slipped.

Yes Des, you have nailed the issues right there. That rachet is poor quality and is too far off one side so you literally have to bend around the whole tree to tighten it. Very dangerous and inefficient. I've given mine away and gone with the millennium and lone wolf hang on stands because they are lighter to carry. For more permanent arrangements I built them out of wood and you can see that in one of my other videos. The wooden ones are cheaper, more secure and if built out of treated pine last for years.

Seems like a big pain in the ass, just to go like 14’ when I could’ve been 21’ in my summit by then. Plus its loud.

Which is why I gave it away. I use my lone wolf or millennium.

I probably wouldn’t see any deer after I yelled “Damnit!” 32 times trying to set that thing up. LoL

May not be convenient for taking into the woods in the dark and setting up in the morning. But it would have its place on a piece of land where you wanted to make different setups during the season and leave it there for a while.

Correct and that's why they are sold in the UK. They don't pack well, the ladder flexes and is unstable on rough ground. The most dangerous part is climbing to secure the ratchet strap around the tree, if the ladder slides off the tree when you are 8 feet up you may get badly injured.

Anything but this. Any hand on stand such as a Millennium M150 with two climing sticks is going to be more comfortable, lighter and quieter.

looks like a big pain in the ass. I have a pursuit tripod stand that granted doesn't have the same portability but I get it stood up and sitting in 2 minutes or less and I don't need a tree.
