No one may read this but here goes....my husband and 3 of his hooch buddies from 610th Combat Engineers are planning a reunion in late September 2021. 40 years ago a local man claiming to have served in Vam asked to borrow my husbands photo annual. It was very similar to a high school annual. We have asked many times to return it but he claims he does not have it. Wondering if anyone out there has a copy? If so please contact me at penny@arvig.net. The wives of these vets would loves to surprise them with hard cover photo albums from the late 60’s early 70’s from Buon Ma Thout area/compound. Thank you all for your service and for any efforts in finding these photos............🇺🇸❤️
I arrived in country 4 Feb 69 from Oz - I have not been back but expect to get there by the end of the year - such a sad loss of so many good men - love and miss them all. Take care Richard and all the best for the future.
Although My grandfather is Vietnamese that he serviced for the US army, so sometimes I've got many stories about the US Army and I really appreciate what you did for the South of VN . My family from DakLak that we were evacuation to the South in 1954, My village all catholic and anti-communist for a long time ago. I wish the dream comes to you in the soonest time. God bless you !..
after the us withdrawal, ccs was turned over to the vietnamese strategic technical directorate (i have 2 friends in their teams)-the teams were supposed to do deep penetration reconnaissance but they failed in their jobs-in 75 ,2 nva divisions with tanks and heavy artillery were able to hide undetected practically next to buon me thuot-and it was the loss of buon me thuot that doomed south vietnam- about my 2 friends they escaped using a trail to head to gia nghia but got ambushed along the way and only 1 got out alive-
