Fish Farming In Uganda - NARO

In Uganda, it is estimated that some 1.2 million people are involved in fisheries-related employment. Over the past three years, the fisheries sub-sector recovered from a slump of -2.1 percent in 2017/2018 to grow at 11.3 percent in 2018/2019. This turnaround is majorly attributed to the strict enforcement of fishing regulations as well as the promotion of aquaculture, among other interventions.
