First video I watched on how to make straps. I am hoping I will be able to learn from here how to make leather restraints for the wife and i to use. Thank you for the lesson.

Thank-you as always for filming these sorts of projects Harry, I really enjoy seeing you create a wide range of projects that I know nothing of how they are done.
I must admit there were at least four or possibly five tools in this video that I have never seen before.
Thanks again Harry and I eagerly await your next project or video. N.

For easy simple straps. Try a sandwich in your vise of a higher block, a block of the width of desired strap and a utility knife blade with the edge away from you. Push the leather in from the other side enough to grasp the end and pull, guiding against the higher block. If your stock is even around the edges you can make as long a strap as possible.

Hi - yes that would work very well - like the strap cutter that I only showed in this film but did not use.......you describe the method very well....and provided people are careful with the sharp blade its a very good way of cutting...thanks for adding that. Regards Harry

Harry Rogers Would it be possible to make a video of some of these tools? What type of steel they are made of, how they where made (like the curved chisel/cutter) or where to get these tools if one does not have the capacity to make them. And what is that board you are cutting on? Just a Q&A about your leatherworking tools. I ,and surely a lot of others, would appreciate such a video!
