I never knew what a poet and philosopher Alonzo was. His talks about dance are so deeply investigated from the standpoint of universal connection and how dance like life is a deep process of ongoing transformation...I was transformed by dance. Listening to many of his talks here today, I came to realize ( his wonderful horse farm story) that i was indeed one of the ones that "listened to the teacher" and "stabbed my own intuition for teacher's approval (never explored my own voice) so though I had a lovely company career for many years, I now find myself in my 60's only just beginning the journey of peeling back the layers to reveal intuition.

I love this! Another person maybe would have given a boring, stock answer to this question, but not Alonzo! How easily we loose ourselves in the training of dance (especially ballet) where the focus appears to be on perfect body and perfect technique; and the dancer becomes disheartened because we have lost the true reason, the true draw of dancing in the first place: to be transformed!
