I read that in the 1800s, Taos would have a market/Fair during certain time(s) of year, and different tribes would come in peace to trade amongst tribes. The Comanche would come peacefully as well and would trade buffalo robes for corn and other products. Comanche would also allow other tribes to hunt buffalo on the southern plains but they would charge them a Tax.
