Oh god, me too. I have re-occuring dreams that the castle still exists and on the inside it's a Scissorhands themed gift shop. What potential for tourists! Such a waste of beautiful architecture as well.
@@idontwantahandlewtf wow that is really awesome. I live in Zephyrhills, could you tell me where that area is? After this virus epidemic is gone I would love to visit out there!
I was a student at USF in Tampa from 88-92. I went to visit my friend in Dade City (where the castle was) in 91 and we rode to the site on 4-wheelers and it was already torn down. They didn't leave it up for long, probably right after filming it came down.
There’s a lot of stuff on the town but so little on the actual castle. Thank you for this! Anyone have pics or videos of the interior castle set? I know it was in a sound stage but can’t find anything.
Yeah it's somewhere along Platt road. Can't tell exactly, but it looks like they're looking toward the northwest from blanton, so it had to have been on the north side of the Platt road. Wish we could get some coordinates.
If your familiar with downtown dade city. Look for a place called Olga's its in that vicinity. If it's actually still called the crest. It was a high end restaurant back in those days
Edward was a great film but honestly in the 80's & 90's I used to get board alot, these days everything, literally everything is a push of a button away, music, games, movies, shopping, food, etc I hardly get bored these days but those early days are nice too look back on here and there but your choices for entertainment were limited.
Probably safety reasons. You'd have to keep it maintained or guarded the entire time in case of trespassers. If someone gets hurt inside I'm sure it's a big liability.
💭 I remember back around 1988 or 1990 there was a little carnival behind the Union Hall #43 by Jim's Tires. 🎡 They used to have little a carnival there in that little field. It had a little kiddy Ferriswheel. I remember riding that little Ferriswheel when I was about 6 years old. Jim's Tires bought out the Union Hall. It says Jim's Tires on the label now.
Wish they would’ve left it up. It was such a beautiful, magnificent piece of art.

such a wholesome television report, thanks Deanna for your work
So cool. My Dad lives in Florida near the neighborhood where the movie was filmed. 💗
So jealous :)
My dad was one of the guys who built that castle

Could you hook me up with the location? I would be ETERNALLY thankful. I would love to visit after this virus epidemic is over with.
It’s in Lutz Florida.
Holy flashback to the 90s.
This has been my movie since I was a kid yo I'm 31 March 8th 1988
Should've kept it up tbh. It was a perfect work of art tbh.

Is it still there or did they actually bring it down?
We’re was that location? I need to know!
I wish I could find the location of The Crest restaurant in Dade City

@@alexissmith7353 Thank-you for the reply
I was born in 1980. I was 10 years old in 1990. 32 years ago. I am 42 years old in 2022. Loved this movie. I am still 10 years old❤❤😥😥
I think the town should of kept the castle because it would of bought tourist to the town, same with Beetlejuice.
They should've left it up.
Love this
I wish I was alive back then 🥺

Would anyone happen to know if they took it back down or not?
90s were the best
Why tear it down?! Let the town see and enjoy it.

Nice
I wish they could have left it😢😢 it’s sad they got rid of the neighborhood, they changed all the colors and everything.
My dream home.
That’s some great analysis.
Whats thr location of this castle?
GREAT FROM 1990 : BUILDING AT THE EDWARD SCISSORHANDS FILM !!!
Sad that Burton got lazy and started using CGI instead of fully building sets by the time Willy Wonka was made.
Me to
Dade City , Florida.
News used to be way better
@adamthewoo brought me here
