The fact that they have a healthy relationship is something I admire about this show. Sinian doesnt want Yunshu to feel insecure/uncomfortable about how he treat other women & Yunshu trying her best to become a better and supportive wife to Sinian. This hits Diff ❤️

What I liked about this show was even though they had a contract marriage, he always treated her with respect and dignity. Even though she really is a nit-wit, he never looked down on her. He appreciated her ability to make the best of even bad situations.

There is absolutely no way all these women failed to spot his wedding ring. It's very visible. Women spot these with birds of prey vision within seconds.
But he is really cool in how he sets boundaries and how he behaves. Good man.
She's in a unrequited love bubble - the delusion is real😂. It will never have crossed her mind that he was married or the ring is related to marriage. Even his colleagues were shocked. Her shocked face when he said he was married.
I know he wears his wedding ring but these air heads who are supposed to be intelligent academics didn’t notice, it’s pretty obvious when people are wearing wedding rings!!!!
I agree. Those woman are supposed to be smart, but they immediately seemed to be gossipy. Just because you went to school together and worked on the same project doesn’t mean you were a couple.
What I don’t understand is later on she tells the lawyer friend that they are in a contract marriage. How did she find that out-I know he didn’t tell her and neither did the lawyer, so how did she find out.

Not sobbing, just shocked pikachu face with tears quietly rolling down her face. The actress didn't even scrunch her eyebrows in confusion, or give many other micro expressions. The actress was just as dry when she played Li Man in Cute Programmer.

If that ain't a perfect example of setting classy "friend zone boundaries," then I don't know what is. Just because a person may/may not be in love with their spouses, does not mean they are in love with you..
This is one of my favorite c-dramas, it's relatively light and mostly conflict free, they have a contract relationship to start with but it's super nontoxic and he's really supportive of his wife.

I also don't think they would be together even if she came with him to China.. Becz all I remember is he always saw her as colleague or as friend..The time I started hate her is Even, after knowing he is married she tried to break his marriage... funniest thing is he is sitting there with a wedding ring on did no-one notice that!, hes been married for a year. I love the way he was totally blunt and honest with her, he has a wife whom he loves, end of story. I too hate these women who chase after married men.

He is not responsible for her expectations; he never showed interest in her or asked her to wait for him until 'this thing' happened, she just set her sights on him and assumed no-one else would want him or he wouldn't notice anyone but her even when he didn't notice her romantically.
As anyone in science/maths especially knows; you make choices based on the current data you have, when the data changes so can the choice. He wasn't interested in anyone so he didn't have a romantic relationship and didn't *plan* to until he earned the Fields Medal. Then he met someone he was interested in, so his plans changed. I know there was more than that to their relationship, but it still holds true. When he got real feelings for his wife, his choices changed with it. Scientists and mathematicians (along with *many* other fields, just using those two because of the characters professions) have to learn to adapt with new data or risk becoming obsolete.

Hated how that woman went to his house after he told her he loved someone else, and not only demanded an explanation but expected some level of intimacy (a hug) that could be easily misunderstood by all and I'm sure she would've tried something more daring cause this would validate her false claims. Loved that he showed time and again that he wanted only that other woman. First, by stating it, then showing it by his actions behind the words. When he confessed to all that he wanted the other woman then this woman should've backed off. But if the restaurant scene didn't show her, that passionate kiss in front of her surely did. I hope she'll leave him and his wife alone after all that.
I enjoyed this drama. I liked how the characters worked through misunderstandings in kind ways.

This is the 2nd drama I've seen her in being the outside woman. I guess she has the perfect stare from a distance face.
Most of these ladies think if they become friends with males for a long period of time they should date or have a relationship with them.Why can't they just have them as friends without expecting a more than friendship relationship...
Mostly in dramas, I have males friends that are just friends never thought to date them
Although she liked him he never liked her and to be honest, I think he was aware of her feelings towards him due to other’s comments and chose to keep it strictly professional as to not give her ideas; the fact that she believes he would’ve got with her during the trip to China shows how cocky she is, all she would’ve done is make the trip uncomfortable cause you can’t force someone to have feelings for you let alone love and with her character she would’ve tried based off her later in episodes behaviors.
To think she believes they are perfect for each other due to being exactly alike when in truth he would’ve been absolutely miserable; for her to come up to him and ask about his wife in such a way already crossed the line but he gave her that and with that you would think it would be enough to stop her from making advances on a already married man but that wasn’t the case, she chose not to only try to disrespect his wife, make it obvious that she has feelings for him as well as to say she isn’t worthy of him while trying to make moves on him.
His wife in that situation had a right to spy on their meet and feel the emotions she was feeling since at that point in their relationship they weren’t secure in their feelings toward each other.
I can’t feel sorry for someone who purposely made moves on a married man.
I like how he put his hands in his pockets so there’s no chance she can touch him.

So basically Chuchu confused his kindness and friendliest acts as interest; but he was always clear he wants to accomplish goals before being in a relationship, but he forgets the "probability" even in math the answer can be something you don't expect.
Even if their relationship start with a contract is like he said it's not being good enough or anything else if two people are too similar like two parallel lines they would hardly interact, that's why Yun Shu and him can "interact". ❤

When I first saw this video without watching the drama, I had taken chuchu's side and hoped whoever the wife is, will be out of his life soon,...now that I've watched...I think sinian and Yun shu are perfect couple but I honestly feel bad for chuchu...if she would have accompanied sinian to China,they would have been together..but work was more important to her(and there's nothing wrong with that but she should keep her priority straight)...so yeah there is chuchu's fault...
But like both Yeye and Zhang laoshi said, "2 parallel lines are hard to intersect"
Because all she know was Sinian's goal was to win fields medal before 35 and any emotion shall not be considered by him. He never liked her anyway. Even tho she told him that she likes him, I don't think he will consider. His grandpa was his only family left and that is more important to him including mathematics.

I don't think it's anybody fault. its all about fate or u can say destiny and ..if they were in love he would have wait for her..or they will fall in love even after his contract marriage... He is in love with yunshu because she is completely different from him as you know..opposite attract and because of love he had for her...he changed completely...whereas he always treated chuchu as a friend he doesn't have any feelings for her..even if she had confessed to him..I don't think they can be together... Chuchu decision about going to china is perfect.. even if she is with him they can't be together... He was willing to wait for yunshu when she is going for job in abroad.. love is not about distance.. or falling apart.. it's all about destiny and true love which is present in one's heart.

I want to know how she knew they had a contract. I’m sure he didn’t tell her, so who else would have. The lawyer looked shocked when she said it, so it definitely wasn’t him. There were only five people who knew about it, him, her, the lawyer, his best friend and her sister. None of them would have mentioned it to that woman.

She wasn’t even a true friend, she was his classmate that followed him around always and since he didn’t set boundaries then she got ideas. He never had any interest in her ever. She is trying to force herself on him. And he has no interest - girl look at his face when he sees you and that tells you everything. Frozen face. Sees wife a light comes on. Seeing this snippet of the movie, I can already tell that it's a...uh no! Loving someone and yet, he or she is already married is a heartbreaker. Its hurtful in every possible way but, its a truth that must be accepted.
Even more, it needs to be a certain understanding between the parties involved. If you know how that person feel about you, dont be general about it. Tell her or him that you only see them as a friend. Some people may have trouble of moving past it but, eventually it will reach them, just as she told him in the movie, Okay, I get it! But, I do give him kudos for standing his ground and kept on repeating to her that he sees her only as a friend. And now, she can move on and meet the one that is waiting to meet her, sort of speak.
