  • My fourth music video, with clips taken from Band of Brothers with the song How To Save a Life by The Fray. It shows the soldiers of Easy Company helping out their fallen comrades, probably saving their lives, which is why I picked this song.

    Video is from the Mini-Series Band of Brothers and link is to purchase the series.

    R.I.P. to every soldier that fought in that dreadful war, for all the hellholes and deathes they went through, German, Japanese, Italian, American, British, French, Soviet, they all died as soldiers and I admire them for that.

    For the british ... which you don't hear aobut often, launched a raid with commando groups on the U-boat base stationed in St. Nazaire ... it was a suicide mission, the Destroyer was supposed to go straight for the dry dock slam through the main gate and explode ontop of it ... they suceeded with the capture of their entire crew, they also blew up the pumps that were used to draw out water for the dry Dock ... but i guess you hardly ever hear those stories cause the main bulk of it is the above.

    The Geneva Convention (the rules of war) is actually four conventions - the 1st-3rd Geneva Conventions (the ones that dealt with medical personnel in the field) had all taken place before WWII. So it was against the rules. But rules only go so far when you're actually in combat.

    @nepal9211 there training helped in those situations but they didnt recieve special training. they recieved the same training as anyone else. A saying from Sun Tzu the man who wrote the art of war "Put a normal man in an impossible fight and he will become a better warrior than any elite." that's not word for word but u get it. the impossible situations easy company faced and their will to survive was what made them such badasses

    btw saw this show (didnt see a full episode though) and loved it made me feel like i was really there and even though i already had a good understanding of ww2 it gave me a better one. One scene that's stuck in my mind is when easy company is in a belgian city (that was the first episode i saw so i dont know names well) and one of the soldiers (a young boy) was shot and how he was screaming about how he didnt want to die.

    @warhawk9566 so...true situations like that wud scare most men........bt the training and discipline given to them by Sobel was also a major factor.......these guys went through some of the toughest trainings that surpassed normal human beings capacity..thats why their the BEST!!!!!!!! my fav part was probably when they were landing......Day of days....CARANTEEN....and Battle of Bastogne..........their COURAGE!!!!!! BRAVERY!!!!! COMERADSHIP!!!!!! was put to the TEST!!!!!!! that was so...SAD

    Isn't he armed with M1 Carbine and in Bastogne he used M1 Garand. He is the top hat of the company, which means that he is the second most important man after Winters. He can command the whole company and even lieutenants cannot tell him what to do. Winters is his commander, not other officers. haha.

    it is in the Geneva Convention, but it is overlooked by everyone. the idea being if that soldier is saved, he could come back and face your army another day. Plus the Japanese sought out and shot our medics specifically.

  • @FernandoHEspinoza
    @FernandoHEspinoza  15 лет назад

    Yeah I'd definitely agree with that, the German military was one of the best in world history at the time. In the years before WWII they military leaders spent time developing revolutionary and innovative tactics that allowed them to secure such quick victories with such a small amount of casualties in the first years of the war.

  • @warhawk9566
    @warhawk9566 13 лет назад

    @nepal9211 yes hats off to them. they where extremely courageous men. My favorite moments of courag was when a squad was pinned down by an mg-42 and one of the men ran straight up to it an through a grenade inside and when one of the soldiers needed to get to a flanking position so he ran in the open where two mg-42's and a tiger tank was shooting at him. situations like that would scare most men shitless

    i think you al are missing the concept behind thefunnyman217's comment. fighting side by side, fighting and living for a cause and even dying for a cause is a noble thing... aint no rascism, hate or anything between men who shed blood together... i agree id like to have fought with men like these, maybe i and others today would be better people for it and just maybe we wouldnt be looking over our shoulder or going to war again, but then again mankind will never learn. R.I.P Heroes!

    To be honest from a Military and Polictical standpoint Hitler did one hell of a job as well as His generals.
    To take up more land than near 4-5 times the size of germany and then defend it all ... to inflict casualties of near 3-4 times their own strength and 3-4times their own loasses in WWII is one hell of an acheivement from a Military stand point.
    I doubt any army now could accomplish something like that ... You have to commend them for putting up a damn good fight.
