Good god it’s the music and atmosphere that keeps this game creepy on repeat play throughs. This really gives the sense of them quietly biding their time before unleashing something truly evil onto the world
There are a lot of stuff that felt very much inspired by the SCP Universe in Purgatory 2. Like, I remember seeing a containment chamber with something that was basically the Hanged King in it.
@@silentserpent6026 Have you heard of "The King in Yellow" ? Not in the SCP Universe, in the real world I mean. It's a collection of short novels from 1895 centered around a theater play called, well, "The King in Yellow", that causes the viewers to go insane or something. Lovecraft later read that collection and decided to integrate the King in Yellow (both the character and its play) into the Cthulhu Mythos. And then later some SCP authors used it as inspiration to create the Hanged King, who is basically a cosmic abomination ruling over an extradimensional land/city called Alagadda - full of tentacular creatures dressed in venetian clothes and masks - and sometimes influences our world through a theater play (SCP-701). Also, in SCP-2264, it's mentioned that there are four lords that serve as advisors for the king, that those four lords look like theater masks, and that one of them was banished to another world (*koff* SCP-035 *koff*).
Meet Lobelia, basically Umbrella's younger brother who is more aggressive

Yeah you instantly notice it when it starts playing
Haunting and secretive, I like it...

Honestly, Purgatory is my favorite game out of every single game I've played
Ebel, Enri & Neun, on their way to destroy Lobelia:
Now this, this is...pretty nice actually.
Lobelia sounds like it would be a cool Group of Interest in the SCP Universe
The D types also feel like SCPs
@@twinjetnebula9822 Especially since they are numbered too.

Seeing the true ending this theme gets all that much more creepy
We must take this corporation apart.
It's umbrella! But anime version...
Wow, it's a theme creepier than the theme of the demon that chases people around and eats them.
no comment, but it sounds cool.
