- Josh & I went to buy a Honda CRF150R and the bike would not start. The bike had been sitting for some time. The seller had someone try and fix it and they gave up so we bought it cheap. Let's bring this CRF home and see if we can get it running. Can we fix it?

Josh is rippin' it! The old man can still teach him a thing or two about target fixation in the turns, but I think Josh could teach the old man about camera work. He's a natural!

that is awesome , lucky you :)))) !!!! he didn't , he did cry a few times early on with the new Raptor 90 for Christmas and a KX65 after he rode an Mx track on an XR80R .

She runs, just a bit of tweaking and it will be good. I would be nervous as well Jason but Josh seemed to take to it like a duck to water. He has had a good teacher. 👍👍

Pumper carb. Give it a couple twists (as others have said). It will fire right up when cold.

Nice job working thru it and getting it going. SO happy to see Josh all geared up to ride. The little guy doesn't need to get all busted up at his age. I don't know all that much about bikes but I'm sure drooling over your sea blue '66 in the background. If you ever need to give it up for some ready cash, let me know!
Nice find, the first thing I do is get the old fuel out, followed by 93 octane with 2 oz. per gallon seafoam, pull the carb. drain and flush. 2 years of motorsports schooling and I was tired of carb cleaning! But that's 90% of small engine repair. Good luck.
Nice bike Jason but watch out for them ground hog holes! I hit one not paying attention once when I was a kid around 13 years old with my first twin bike. I saw it at the last second and just let go of the handle bars because I knew I was screwed. The front tire when in and I got launched into the air big time the neighbors girl was tending to her horse's saw me she said I looked like a rag doll flying through the air. And it was funny I landed flat on my back and just layed there and heard her yelling as she ran to me and looked down at me and asked are you OK? I replied Do I look OK? She helped me up and I walked away without a scratch the bike though it was the end of the road for it. It went end over end and parts just flew off it. I asked the girl not to say anything to her or my parents or my motorcycle days were done. And yeah I was hauling ass across that field looking at deer instead of the ground in front of me and that ground hog hole was a new one I hadn't seen in the field. So be careful ya never know guys.😊👍

I'm old 58 and and my first bike was an Honda XR75 and watching this video really amazed me how much more powerful that 150 sounds to the bike's we rode in the 80's. Very impressed with how well Josh quickly got comfortable with the bike.
what an awesome 1st bike, i'm 52 and lusted for every 50-80 on the earth lol. I've ridden a CRF150R on an mx track and I jumped about everything on it ...they have great torque . He usually rides my yard bike , a KLX140 ....it's a dog , the CRF150R has double

I`m a bike lover and I am not real familiar with the newer 4-strokers but if it`s idling good you have it. It looked spunky.
I'm 62 and still have an xr100 as well as all my old friends. We have more fun on them than most of our bigger stuff
I have a KLX140 with the 21/18 rims for the yard , front and rear disc brakes for yard fun

not worried about the neighbors ....just their horses :). He doesn't ride this one at our house, way too loud. He rides a KLX140 on our property and the ATC, both very quite . The CRF150R is a track / race bike.

Hey Jason, that son of yours is a credit to you, about the same age as my granddaughter. I bought her a "twist and go" bike and a similar quad but she's not interested, she can't wait to get her hands on my 1949 600cc Scott but that will not happen till I'm in the next life (78 now so who knows).

great suspension too , I rode one down in FL and over jumped a table top to flat on it ( track had so many tables i couldn't remember which ones were which lol ) , i was having the oh $hit moment in the air as i knew i was going long and this is going to hurt...it soaked it right up

Well they're about $5100 when they new . Water that's what I thought I was saying up in the front there and no shrouds for cooling on the engine. Since it's new to you you might want to take a test on that antifreeze winter winter coming and all. Motorcycles have gotten really pricey. You're saying it has lots of torque too bad it doesn't have when you get caught out at night later and you have no you could rig something up easy enough and probably maybe a light on your helmets. Cool motorcycle.

the dealer i worked at in florida sponsored a 250 road race rider , he would always end up 2nd to Rich Oliver ( ? if i recall name ) who i thought had a factory Yamaha. I also got to ride super moto back then with Thomas Stevens , he was a 600 super sport champion for yamaha . Yami built him a trick YZ426 with a 5 speed ...I had a Yoshimura DRZ450 on street dunlop 207's...I remember him telling me to take it easy on those " street tires " , he had grippy slicks...i also remember him following me and later telling me how much my lines SUCKED🤣😂👍.

It’s a Honda , The Cure for That Lag is It needs to Be Held WFO, !! In 5th gear on a long Stretch , get the Valves cam lifters and rings sticking cause it sat for a While without Being Storage prepped , See How it Idles Down after and Throttle Response 😬🤣

This has nothing to do with the bike, but I've always wondered about the rock wall. You don't see those where I'm from. I can't imagine how long it took to build that . And how old is it?
New England and it's rock walls❤️....the house across the street was built in 1800 and another home down the road was built in 1720. My road has some very nice old rock walls. When I go to places like NH and i'm getting lost on purpose on some old dirt roads and see rock walls in the woods I ask myself the same things :))).

@@5150mxVW to be honest your half ass ways of doing things just drives me up the wall.I'm not really sure if it's your shade tree mechanic skills or if I'm just jealous of you 2 because you always seem to nail the best deals. When Mustie one tried starting the trail 70 with the spark plug finger tight sent me over the edge. I had to stop watching him and then you with the CRF 110 It just wasn't the way I do things. I do love the content you both produce. I'm trying to deal with my problem on my end. P.S. you looked like Steve Perry from Journey in the video where you and Mustie one went and got the orange Ghia out of the barn. Stay hip and burn one for me.
@@smoothmove7566 " half ass " is something i'm always telling my son to stop doing... definitely my lack of mechanical skills as i tell people I'm currently pursuing the latest thing i suck at. I'm not sure what the issue with CRF was other than i didn't pull the carb and put it in the ultrasonic ? Maybe a spin and clean was all it needed , it wasn't that dirty. Steve Perry? damn, i wish i could sing :)... M1 has his bleep together is all i have to say on that ....as for burning , i haven't touched it since i tried it at 17. Super clean little thumper. Those 4 stroke 150Rs are good little bikes. Don't let him get in the bad habit of sitting all the time. Coming out of those corners he should be standing up. Keep up the great videos!
Coming out of the corners he should sitting …going into the corners he should be staining to let the suspension work under him on the chop / braking bumps ( if on a track ) . Yes , stand up through turns you can , saves energy and allows the bike to work but when it’s smooth it’s wide open throttle sitting down for me .
@@5150mxVW agreed. You can get by sitting a lot more if it's smooth. The only drawback to the 150s is you are really limited on classes you can race (moto). Supermini and Schoolboy 1 are the only two that bike fits in (besides girl/women's classes)
