There is no way around it you have to pay high for that amount of talent. He expresses emotion with so much sincerity that even when we know he is acting it feels real.

The way Soohyun portrayed relief and fear was so amazing. His deep breathes. The way he kneeled like he's under so much adrenaline from the happening. PLUS Jiwon's eye acting and delivery!!! This scene was everything.

This scene hit me so hard. Haein needed to see firsthand just how badly her absence would affect Hyunwoo for her to realize the surgery would be worthwhile. She didn't want to lose her precious memories but ultimately chose to survive for Hyunwoo's sake. I love how this show depicts true love built on sacrifices.

When he kneeled down in front of hae in! Like the sound of relief in his voice but the stress can still be seen in his body, he just makes the character come to life!😭😭😭😭 I swear i was also panting because of how hyunwoo was also breathing so hard😭😭😭😭
And to think that it was Kim Soo Hyun who suggested the kneeling part himself. Even the crying on hae-in's shoulder, no wonder he's considered a top actor 😊
Kim Soo-hyun's acting as Baek Hyun-woo is one of his finest moments as an actor. And that's an understatement in itself considering how stellar and incredible his acting is throughout the years. Watching him bring Hyunwoo to life with such intensity is such a feast for the eyes. It's no wonder Soohyun said that there were times he wanted to run away in Germany and that it took Jiwon to help him center himself. This episode really took him through the wringer. From the church scene to the car crash to that hospital scene as Haein is being taken to surgery. It was a never-ending rollercoaster of emotions. How Soohyun was able to get there mentally and pace himself physically to still leave enough room to bring it for the next scene, is a sign of masterclass acting. He truly is the finest actor of his generation, a god of acting as K-netz call him, and why he's the highest paid actor in Korea. There's so much to unpack in this episode, far too much I would say. But this car crash scene in particular.... It was terrifying to watch, not because I thought Haein was in the car, but because I just KNEW Hyunwoo would simply break (and this before THAT hospital scene where he quite literally defined for me how a man can simply BREAK with utter fear, relief, anxiety, yearning, you name it, Soo-hyun did it). I was not prepared to watch Hyunwoo break and Soo-hyun act that out. And boy did he do it. The absolute devastation, panic and fear at the thought that she was dead, then to see her standing there. Him watching her as if seeing a ghost. Even the lack of sound after that truck hit the car was like symbolizing that HIS whole world has just stopped and nothing would ever be the same again. The way his legs nearly give out from under him from all that adrenaline and sheer panic. His hoarse breathing, his teary eyes, the desperate way he clutched her as if proving to himself she's still with him and he was never letting her go, I too would have fallen at the knees had I not been sitting down. I applaud Soo-hyun for this. And Jiwon...she brought her A-game here as well, as she showed just by her eyes and expressions alone what no words needed saying. She was going ahead with the surgery because actions speaks louder than words. Seeing her husband that devastated proved to her that he wasn't lying. What his desperate words could not convince her, his utter, physical terror at her loss did it. He would lose himself without her and while she feared losing herself and her memories of him, the realization that Hyunwoo would lose himself more just flat out terrified her even more. The love between these two shows that no sacrifice is too great nor too heavy a burden to carry, not if you have each other to hold onto. Kim Soo-hyun, there are no words to encapsulate your Oscar, Daesang-worthy acting. You have no equal and that has become even more evident. You simply deserve every awards this season and more. You are more than owed your flowers and I hope Korea showers you with it. And Jiwon, you were a revelation. You shined like the diamond that you are. I thank the gods you two were paired together as only you two could have brought to life Hyunwoo and Haein. It's probably a lot to ask, but I hope and pray you two will work together again. (And yes, I also hope you two will end up together like my CLOY couple. I'll search for a four-leaf clover & wish desperately for it.)

If there was ever any doubt on Haein’s part about how much she’s loved by her husband, this moment erases all doubt. Between the two, it is Haein who is mentally and emotionally stronger. That’s why she was floored by his action and made the decision to go into surgery despite her huge fears in that second. You can actually see it in her eyes that no way she could leave this guy on his own. He’d ruin his life and she’ll never allow that.
The movements, the breathing, their expressions, their eye contact, and their emotions. Speechless.
And this is the moment of realization for Hae In, what will happened to Hyun Woo if she left him..
The pure realisation in hae in’s face when she got a glimpse of what his life would be after her. His uncontrollable overwhelmed eyes at the thought of her being gone. This scene is everything.

Now I know why Kim Soo-hyun is the highest paid actor in Korea - you only have to listen to his voice and see his face! He electrifies each scene, no one, no one, could ever match him.
This is, by far, my most favorite scene in the series because it perfectly captures the intense love and desire of Hyun-woo to see Hae-in alive. You can also clearly see here the realization of Hae-in of what will happen to him if ever she dies, which is why she then decided to go for the surgery. Truly a top tier drama and scene! Avidly waiting for EP 15 and 16 and not watching any teasers so I'll go in blindly!

This was the most important scene of this particular romantic drama...the actress agreed for operation only after witnessing his husband's state in that particular moment....she understood the pain which will be carried out by his husband if she didn't go through the operation and will certainly die in few weeks....brilliant acting and direction....supreb just superb...

This man... I get captivated so much because every single time his delivery is so real that I forget it's a drama and not real life. Amazing actor. He raised the standards so high that now I get bored by average acting.

I really cannot move on from this scene, it's heart wrenching the way Kim Soo Hyun embodied the fear of losing someone and the way Kim Jiwon portrays sadness and giving assurance to Soohyun was a top tier. I really couldn't imagine this drama without these two phenomenal actor/actress. They really got the perfect casting and Queen of Tears should go down in history as one of the best Kdramas of all time!

I think this is Kim Soo-hyun's best performance. During the whole series we are able to feel his various emotions, but this was unbelievable. Just in this short clip he displayed a range of emotions for us from shock and dismay, to absolute fear to a huge wave a relief. This is why this series is #1 on tvN. I'm going to hate for this series to end.

One minor detail I adore here is, when Hyun-woo is crashing into his feelings, basically weak in the knees because there's too much he's “carrying” right now, as he is about to fall and he then falls, the song Falling by Isaac Hong starts playing the falling part and its so minute but it reignites the viewers emotions. Music is amazing Mann, also what it does. The moment is at 2:12 - 2:15 and on but those 3 seconds hit different

The acting in this scene is impeccable…when I first watched it, I had chills and goosebumps. I thought, “wow, this is exactly how I’d act had I been put in such a devastating situation. I could feel the initial daze, disbelief, and denial in Hyun-Woo’s eyes before the panic set in and he frantically pounded on the window in the frenzy. He couldn’t think straight, and neither would I if it were me. The staggering, as well, and the deep gasps from his core and the release of all the tension in his bones as he collapsed into Hae-In’s embrace shook me and struck me as so relatable and realistic in that moment. All of these small details and the absorption of Kim Soo-Hyun and Kim Ji-Won into this beautifully sentimental storyline are what distinguishes the drama Queen Of Tears from all others and the reason why it is the number one most searched romantic comedy these days. I’ve never loved a Korean Drama as much as I love this one, and I don’t think that will change anytime soon. Much love!

I have seen legendary tv shows but this Kim Soo Hyun's acting was the greatest... I felt a great connection with the characters in the show... I am not an emotional person; I have seen many emotional scenes but never cried (except when iron man dies)... But while watching this show, I cried a lot and felt the emotions... Btw, this was my first drama.

I just can't. His portraytal of DESPAIR is just heart-wrenching. It's hard to properly show emotion without verbal action. I feel like a lot of people if not done properly, sure they'd be able to show that aspect of shock and sadness but Kim Soo Hyun managed to realistically convinced us that Baek Hyun Woo was undergoing something even more complicatied, the feeling of despair and hopelessness when he thought he lost the person he loves and that immense relief when he found out she's fine. Kim Ji Won also did soooo well in terms of perceiving the character Hyun Woo's 'breakdown' and I especially want to point out the physical gestures as well. Her, trying to console Hyun Woo who's crying like a child, checking his expression and that reassuring pat. Everything's simply awesome!
Despair and devastation. There's no recovering from that. I am amazed by KSH's acting. I watched the rehearsal video where he and KJW discuss kneeling etc. in the scene and both are so calm and methodical. And now you see the finished scene. He has to bring that depth of emotion out from somewhere. How does he just turn it on and off so easily? In America we have amazing actors who practice method acting (where the actor stays in character even when not actively filming), but that's not how KSH does it. I am quite astounded.

I cannot watch the entirety of episode 14. It was so sad and I am not ready to shed tears. But every episode proves their artistry and that they are Hyunwoo and Haein. I have been waiting for years for them to do a collab and the wait is very much worth it.

This part and the emotional church scene were by far my favorite no matter how painful episode 14 is. KJW slayed the church scene and KSH outdone this part.
PS. When Haein told Hyunwoo that he makes other people want to hug him when he cries...trust me, we definitely felt that too especially that look he gave to Haein before he kneeled in front of her.
