Lady (Hear Me Tonight) | Soph & Matt The Distance Acoustic Cover

Almost exactly nine years ago, we uploaded our very first video to RUclips. It was an acoustic cover of Lady by Modjo and is still lurking around on our channel, quietly making it's way to 100k views.
At the time, Soph could barely form a chord, so the video, along with a bunch of others from around that time, consists of me (Mat) playing a guitar far too aggressively, and Soph vaguely dancing around trying not to look awkward.
So we though it would be fun to return to this track all these years later, with a little more confidence and a better sense of composition.
This time, Soph's on the guitar and I've once again broken out the U-Bass so that that iconic baseline can get a look in.
We still really enjoy playing this one live, but if you're into deep, poetic lyrics this really isn't the song for you. It's like a little three minute holiday on stage where we just go into auto-pilot and let muscle memory to the work 🤣
In other news, I crashed my drone into a tree last week. This in itself wouldn't be too much of a problem, but the tree I hit was overhanging a river which at the time was swelled with rain and running dangerously fast.
I didn't see any fish swimming past on the controller screen, so I knew it hadn't entered the water, but as I got closer I realised the drone had tumbled down the bank of the river and caught itself on the very last bush that could save it from a watery grave.
This bush was jutting out from an outcrop about 12 feet above the roar, and the only route down to it was a terrified bum-slide down a 45 degree slope of very loose dirt, with just a few roots to grab hold of to prevent me from slipping and taking a bath. Every single one of these roots was a thorny, spikey reminder that the DJI Mini Pro 3 doesn't have side-sensors, and you really need to be careful when flying close to the ground.
Anyway I managed to dislocate a couple of vertebrae in order to get the reach I needed to retrieve it, and it's currently in Liverpool with a drone-repair guy. I've really missed it and promise to be more careful from now on.

Ah bless ya Piers, thanks so much - yes we spend plenty of time getting it just right, but we're not above mixing and adding a bit of EQ and compression after the fact ;)
@@TheDistanceDuo yeah, but phrasing that in sync only comes from hours of singing together or hours of mucking with note by note editing in your DAW. The singing together option's so much more fun.

May I first say how terribly saddened I am to hear the fate of your poor Drone - i hope the repairs to it are successful and you can return to having lots of fun filming soon! I have been moving at the speed of life lately. Lot’s of change in a fairly short time. Some days I win and life slows a bit and I’m ok . Other days not so much and I’m not ok.
