I’m a really big fan of how this switch from Bader to Siri saves us almost $8M, which we could literally turn into a free high leverage reliever if we want. We do this while losing nothing on defense, improving the arm strength of the OF, and probably netting 5-10 additional HR’s from the 8-9 hitter. Let Stearns cook.
Stearns isn’t giving out multi yr deals for RPs. Thats just not how he operates. Bunch of small 1yr deals for RPs, some will be fliers & some will be lower level.
we know that wasn't how he operated in milwaukee. we have no idea how he operates with this kind of a budget. i guess we're about to find out. before this year he wasn't the type of guy to offer 400 million to a japenese pitcher coming over or throw down 600+ million on the best bat on the market.
@@SynsityGW you can get no name bullpen guys to have elite seasons. You can’t get no name bats to have offensive seasons like a Juan Soto. RP are way too volatile to give out big money long term contracts, don’t see him changing that.
@@jayjayfrmstatefarm9363The Dodgers kept operating that way with pitching, that's why they kept falling short in the playoffs. Until they finally went out there and got top of the rotation pitchers, they finally win a World Series in a full season. Until the Mets get Ace level pitching, they ain't getting over the hump. The Dodgers now try to go after Corbin Burnes or Max Fried because they finally realize what wins in October. Not to mention they're still going after Roki Sasaki. Mets ain't beating them until they pitching period.
I think its shortsighted to simply give Diaz back his closers job after this season especially if you could bring on board a Scott or even a healthy Treinen. If the Mets are serious about winning a WS Diaz needs to earn being closer, not receive it by default.
I don’t actually think Diaz is a lock next season I mean I think he will be here but would it shock me if he was traded by Stearns? Not really. I think he could be traded and I think Stearns wouldn’t be against trading him
Please let Hal Steinbrenner that I really really want Juan Soto and it will affect my interest in buying tickets. Please god don’t let Soto go to the Mets. Savvy move by Stearns. He has a whole rotation to build, that’ll be where we see how good he is. Or isn’t. I like that he extended the QO to Severino, I let him walk, very replaceable, I say so as a yankee fan who wants the best for Sevvy.
YOU DON'T KNOW what Jose Siri is gonna become as an everyday player... Who are you, GOD? 🤦🏿 He's Juan Soto's DR homie, and that means something. Donde es mi gentes? QUE LO QUE? WEY! ☝🏿🖤✨️💯😎
They are genuinely nothing alike as players. Siri is an elite defensive center fielder while Davis was a slow 1st baseman. It’s like comparing Harrison Bader and CJ Cron

Paying Bader 10.5 mil never really made sense to me to begin with.
Save money with bader yes. But siri stinks. Absolutely stinks.
Siri looks like a force. With the correct mentors around him could become an excellent addition to the Mets.

Jay walker freaking awesome Buehler

I mean I agree but he will bring in two years for the right guys

Seri can be an added piece in a trade ?
Great review of the relief market. Agree - stay away from Chapman. Let him go to Phillies so we can smoke him.

If Rays turn Orze into Jeffrey Springs or Zach Littell does that change your mind on trade ? Because to me Rays acquired him to convert to a Starter

Siri another 187 hitter ,Mets have to many of them
like who
Will Smith LRP he has beed a part of a few Championships.
YOU ARE NOT A WINER IF YOU WANT MARTE AS A DH...WE NEED BETTER DH

Jose Siri?? Cheaper version of Chris Davis. Yeesh.

@Jeremy-ed7fy
Fair. I meant as batters. Occasional HR, but otherwise doesn't hit a lick.
Hes an upgrade from Bader. Nice and simple.

Bader got more big hits in April and May than Siri's had in his life. Cheaper? Yes. But not better.
The teams with the biggest threat to steal soto from mets Phillies Dodgers redox get Alonso signed already while you waiting soto sweepstakes decision
It sure does count, like Judge being the garbage he is in OCT every yr
