It’s still a good looking car.
HE LED THE VOLT ? KARMA'S SCREWED
Awesome I really want a new old car ohh and to put gas in my electric car....... 🤔 😑 😒
Not all electric
Hate low profile tires
Waist of money
So basically what Fisker Karma should have been. At this point in time somewhat irrelevant. A $130k+ hybrid with a 4.5 0-60. Why not just buy a Model S? Great looking car, though.
Why buy a Model 3 when you can get a Versa for 1/2 the price...
@@wiibaron Because it's less than 1/2 the car?
Cool PHEV makes a lot of sense from engineering protective but it's tough sell in the current market...
Thanks is not a boring EV car.
Looks nice, but the nose needs work. Looks too much like the 2012 Tesla Model S. Price is likely to be excessive. I don't think any hybrid imitation of a Tesla Model S is worth 6 figures. Would make a nice replacement for a Chevy Volt if offered at a similar price.
Yeah and if you could have a Rolls Royce for only $50K...
Why would you bring this to market as a Hybrid? Why not just go the extra mile and produce an EV to meet the market change and compete against Tesla!
Tranel Hawkins I guess cause the powertrain in based on the original design but they changed the ICE to a BMW one and upgraded the battery to a 28 kWh from a 20 kWh.
That may be best for performance, but concerning the environment a plug in hybrid with 80 miles of all electric range seems better than adding a giant battery. ie. It's better if someone doesn't take long trips on a regular basis or have a crazy long commute. There's also a shortage of battery manufacturing capability. PHEVs may be more difficult for maintenance though.
I don't get why it's so expensive with such a small battery. Google says the 2018 model was $130,000 which would be $30k more than a Model S Performance.
Main reason for the expense is the very small production run. These cars will be practically hand-built. In order to build a mass market car like the Tesla Model 3 it has to be designed from the start for mass production, and that requires a major capital investment in robotics, etc.... more investment than most startups can afford.
I give them 18 months before they go broke, again!
Legacy car makes just don't get it!!!
This is a hugely complex and very expensive car.............Just put an 80kw to 100kw battery in, make it an EV, and be done with it!!!
After they sell a hand full of them Bob Lutz can convert them to V8's.......BLAHahahahaha
Nah, the chinese state will just print more money to put in
Pretty much an oversized/prettier Chevy Volt. For a car this size they could've equipped it with with plenty of batteries to make it all electric. What's with the high center hump inside, running between the row of seats ?
Good that the older model will be even cheaper now for a used one.
Wow too bad about the ICE. Hopefully they move this to all electric. Really nice car.
Looks great, but it's still a gas car...
So?
Wrong again... so thx for the FUD my cult drone friend...
This is a good car for people who have range anxiety. I don't agree with peoples arguments of range anxiety, but it is what it is.
It can finally DC-fast charge now, unlike before. There have been so many meaningful improvements.
I don't agree with gravity, but it is what it is.
@@nc3826 Do you have anything better to do than being a conservative troll? Fuck off.
135k range anxiety? A tesla has superchargers in most places and costs far less and blows the doors of this vehicle. The previous version also fast charged. Google is your friend buddy
shame they made the supercharger network a monopoly for cult members only....NVM CCS will surpass them soon enough
@@nc3826 You're calling Tesla owners cult followers. You're a troll.
Not as good looking as the Fisker.. There are companies that make better upgrade to the original car. Jalopnik had a large article about how Karma ripped off some startup
So essentially it's an old Fisker Karma that's been revamped. I know a guy who owns an old Fisker Karma & it's a GM. I've looked it over extensively & everything is GM. A badly overpriced Volt
They replaced it with the engine from the BMW i8. Essentially, it's just an old Fisker Karma with the drivetrain of an i8
They lost me at generator.
30 years at GM...LOL, LOL, LOL, LOL, LOL, etc., etc.
internal combustion for the lungs
It's still a range extender ev ....
so?
Still just an overpriced ice box . Bad carma at this stage of the game .
The correct spelling of Karma is with a "k".
@@DocWolph car ma a play on words .Maybe a little out there for you .A bit nuanced perhaps .
To me the Fisher looked better, nose looks pieced together and rear is just average.
80 miles range, allows me to do almost all my driving electric. Perfect. 500 hp, perfect. But since there is no price advantage over a Tesla S, and the practicality is much lower, I will be with Tesla, or Lincoln Aviator Touring and other Extended Range EVs. I hope that Karma s good looks can sustain it.
