I just happened upon one of these rare beauties online for a very nice price and just had to buy it - can't wait for it to arrive. Truly a unique camera.
Excellent video. I am surprised your videos have not come up in my RUclips recommendations before today. I have subscribed and I am looking forward to viewing your other videos.
Thanks a lot for your comment, glad you like the vidéo, I am currently shooting with some other cameras of my collection during my hollidays and I plan to post some more vidéos in a few weeks (when I’m back from my hollidays) :-)
Hello, I have a huge collection of analog cameras and love to shot with various camera and films (colors and Black&white) mainly expired. So here is my question : are you interested in similar videos ? a short presentation of the camera and some photos made with them? would you like some more ? any comment to improve my videos ? thanks for your comments !
@@bunadud HeyThanks for the nice comment, beeing blocked at home with the curent situation I will sure have some time to make some more videos - just using already shot photos because we cannot get out to shoot new ones right now !
They're super interesting camera. I have one being repaired. This is the first video I've seen on RUclips about this camera. Your camera has the accessory cold shoe adapter that goes around the eye piece to mount a flash or other accessory on top of your camera. Not all Autorex/Autoreflex/Review cameras had this feature. My Japanese Autorex has no shoe what so ever. Konica used shutter speed rather than aperture priory.
That's a beautiful camera, been looking for one for a while, but they do tend to be expensive on eBay. I'm curious how you adjusted your ASA on the old film? Nice video, thank you.
Thank you ! Yes it’s a very nice camera but hard to find at a decent price for sure ! I feel lucky to have one ! For old films they tend to loose sensitvity over time, so a 200 asa film might behave like a 100 asa one after a while for example. So if you set your camera to 100 asa for expired 200, that might compensate….
I tried the LR44 battery that you had suggested below to another viewer, but it didn't work as it seems the battery is to small for the hole. I'm not sure as to what other battery I could use and is it one battery that is needed? I ask because my Nikon FM takes two LR44 batteries, which fit not only snugly in the battery compartment, but it's also deeper, to accommodate two batteries. The Konica also isn't deep enough for two batteries. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, as I also have the manual and it doesn't mention what time of battery is being used and you are practically the ONLY person doing a review on this camera, on RUclips. Thank you kindly
@@RetifsGarage thank you so much!!! I have more question, if you could help, it would be greatly appreciated! My camera is missing the lens release lever (round, nobbly button). Do you think that if I made a diy solution with a metal pin, it would work?
The Canon Sure Shot Multi Tele can also switch between full and half frame 35mm, but can only do so while changing the film because the switch is inside the film compartment
@@RetifsGarage Thanks for sharing the konica! I'm definitely on the lookout for one, I didn't know it existed until I got myself one of the Canons and started reading up on it and another page mentioned the Konica. Apparently they're the only two cameras that let you switch between full and half frame 35mm like that
@@RetifsGarage It is unique. And from a development standpoint, it isn't that difficult to do mechanically. I am surprised it wasn't a standard design feature.
It uses normally two px625 (1,3v) that are not made anymore but if you look for px625 on Amazon you will find some alternatives (1,5v) that do the trick for me. Or may be your meter passed away ? If that is the case you can still shoot manually by guessing the settings or using an external cell if you don’t trust yourself on that (look for sunny 16 rule, it may help) cheers.
This is the first auto reflex from 1966, it’s in two words auto-reflex, only three of the série have that half frame capabilities, this one, the P and the Konica half-pro FT1 , the others Konica auto reflex are the T series (for TTL) and do not have that feature, I made another video one one of those auto releases, they share the same lens though. I hope that helps.
@@flyingcub félicitations ! Tous les objectifs Nikon anciens (non numériques, sauf éventuellement les objectifs numériques prévus pour le plein format) bonnes photo ! (Perso un 50mm fixe très courant est un très bon choix)
@RetifsGarage my Konica Auto-Reflex is on its way back from being serviced, should be with me tomorrow, the repair shop said they had never had one come in for servicing before as far as I know they are the predominant half frame specialists in the UK. Wasn't cheap mind you but they did service the vivitar 28mm f2 that came with it too

I want to buy one of this. But I think that a wide lens would do better because half frame gives you less focal lenght. I will purchase a 28mm or a 35mm ! I am just afraid of distortion on 28mm. Nice camera.

@@lorilima5744 good question ! it count's only full frames, il you are in mode hal-frame, moves every two shots.
