This movie was filmed in Nevada County CA, and most of it was in Nevada City, the Challenger survived the movie and was sold at auction. I remember seeing it around Grass Valley in 1978
Air Strike Technologies Hahaha, its something you mentioned that. Thats the film that got me liking ford and the only reason i mentioned this custom wiping out. That Custom500 was BadAss! So much so that its one of my dream cars. Never thought id say that about a ford...
*Firstname Lastname* *chuckles* 😅😅😅 Well sometimes it sure looks that way because they are only limited to going a certain top end during filming, but those LTD high emission v8's were still pretty peppy cars, fast but not high performance fast!! My gammy had a 1975 4 door dark green tan interior i think it had a 5.0 in it,i think that's what the LTD 8's were or maybe a 351 if you got the rare Windsor with one!!...But i believe according to Wkipedia LTD's were famous by the Ford 302!!...Challenger's are great cars but they're not the fastest of 1970!!
The Challenger is cool and what you called a Road Runner is a Satellite. The Road Runner has scoops on the leading edge of the rear quarter panel Also love the LTD catching up and almost passing the challenger and Satellite at the same time then gracefully backs off

@@1967davethewave,there was no badging on that car except for the Plymouth on the front grill. Could have been a GTX or a Roadrunner. John Saxon did say in the film that it was a Roadrunner.
It CAN be done. 19 years old in my 1959 pumped Super D-500 Dodge Coronet 2 dr hardtop. Both 4 bbls wide open on dirt. Roost of dirt, THEN tire smoke and squalling tires. I got to hard packed bedrock. went back and looked later, black rubber tire marks embedded in the hard pack. Wouldn't have believed it til it happened.

i just said that for my comment, lol tiies squealing on dirt sound effect, lol
When this was showing on HBO, I owned a 70 roadrunner and a 70 Challenger that same color. Watched it each time it aired
Sad to see the Chrysler and The RR,and even the ford Custom was lost. R.I.P. Glad to see the Challenger made it out ok... Thanks for uploading!

i always got a kick out of the tires sqealing on dirt sound effect,LOL
Now we know what happened to Marsha after the Brady Bunch
Jack Watters yeah she went wild
The green plymouth is NOT a Road Runner. It's a 70 Plymouth Satellite. Stilla cool chase with a 70 Challenger!
No it's a road runner!!!
@@charleslapinski2138 Again, NOT a RR. You can CLEARLY see it has a flat hood and single exhaust. Probably a sport satellite. Hope this helps....

3,000 lb Challenger race car with pro driver that can't outrun a stock 5,000 lb 4-door Ford LTD. Realistic.
