Whoa, this is incredible! I'd like to write something that captures the Touhou style this well someday! If you don't mind my asking, where/how'd you get the instruments? I found a soundfont a while back, but it's pretty low quality and only contains the stuff from the really early games.

ZUN has multiple different sound sources over the years and does not use soundfonts, his most famous equipment is the Edirol SD-90, the source of many of his leads (ie Romantic Tp). I do own an SD-90! But there are alternatives, of course. He also uses multiple VSTs and libraries, spanning a few eras of touhou games/albums, of which some I also have. For anyone starting with Touhou style, I'd recommend acquiring the below: musical-artifacts.com/artifacts/813 This contains 3 VSTs, most important is Super Quartet (PCB-UFO era pianos and basses) and Hyper Canvas which I urge you to use the SD-20 Bank Mod which replaces the internal sounds to akin of a SD-20, musical-artifacts.com/artifacts/2371. The SD-20 is just a cut down version of an SD-90, it has 3/5ths of the instruments it, should serve you well enough for the beginning.
