I was wondering why they didn’t portray it like this and I think they wanted to contrast the argument Andrew Garfield’s character and his girlfriend that was happening simultaneously during this song. They wanted the song to sound sillier and match the instrumental because at the end of the day arguments like that is silly. Hence why the lyrics and instrumental is fun like that.
it's more like here they are having an argument and in the movie the argument's already over.. so there's a sense of helplessness and sadness in their expressions
The beauty of film is that you can get two contrasting performances and emotions with Jon and Susan fighting and cutting to Jon and his backup singer performing the song in the satirical over the top performances they give. Meanwhile, Theatre is more in the moment and the actual song is a fight between Jon and Susan in real time. Both wonderful renditions in two very different mediums.
Here after watching Tick Tick Boom, Andrew Garfield and Vanessa Hudgens' version of Therapy combining with their ridiculous choreography was hilarious 😂😂

I wore these pants and I'm willing to dance like an idiot if you just give me a chance
to just plug this show and reach the people bust my flow 'cuz the flow is lethal....
+kristina suphi it's called in the heights and life is sweet yo. It helps that I get to kiss Karen Olivo.. 8 times a week yo
the beats gone but we keep goin' 'cuz we know we movin' and provin' a michealrito 'cuz we goin' to have a hit show abut Latino people
Wake up at my bodega! I'm sorry mr Kenny Ortega, you gotta tell Zac Efron that he gotta get off because he never gonna look like Jonathan Groff
The way Lin said I'M SAYING made me spit out my tea help me
OMG THAT PART MADE ME LAUGH SO HARD
Literally ME
1:55 That vibrato though!!!
omg lin sounds INCREDIBLE here
Karen Olivo's facial expressions make the world a better place.
So does Lin Manuel Miranda's tiny little subtle angry, but also having fun, smile.
If my parent's argument sounds like this I would listen to them all day
I just love how passionate Lin is about this movie. Even watching the movie I can just feel the love put into it.
more like the whole musical
pure heart
I'm so surprised he didn't cast her in Hamilton her voice is soooo beautiful
Erin Knowles he actually wanted to cast her! He wrote the role of Angelica for Karen but she didn't want to move to New York for the role. She is now playing it in Chicago!
Oh I didnt know that! Thank you for letting me know! She would make a fab Angelica!
Clíona Gallagher omg I‘d regret that decision for the rest of my days!
@@clionagallagher5060Awww that’s so sweet
She got the cutest facial expressions!
This is amazing, personally I liked the version in the movie. The passive aggressiveness, the irony and the condescending tones in Andrew and Vanessa’s acting really sold it, a lot less loud and in your face but super effective.
i don’t usually love lin’s vocals but they’re actually really nice in this song
1:48 is the best part, it gives me chills. They are so talented
Honestly don't know how many times I've watched this.
this is better than the original
I'm addicted to the line Lin says at 1:58-2:09 it's just my favorite part
This is probably the best musical song to watch live. I've seen it live three times now, and it never disappoints.
This song is perfect for Lin’s voice
Karen belting so effortlessly my god!!
i watch this every day
lin’s facial expressions are priceless and karen’s voice is perfect
Am I the only one who thinks Lin would be an amazing Mark in Rent???
Sydney Wright opening night would just be him sobbing for two hours
@@franloiacono9306 & it would be amazing!
Have you seen the video where he duets What You Own with ✨Adam Pascal✨?
The pianist is killing it!
And this has been how to argue in song
Lin-Manuel Miranda's talent literally oozes from his pores. My respect (and awe) is absolute.
wow! this lin guy is really good at singing! he should write a musical or something!!
I’m not normally a huge fan of Lin’s singing, but I absolutely LOVE him in this song
Line face at 2:40 is so adorable 😍😂😭😫😘
I loved that he did this musical prior to working on the film. He did a great job with the film. 👏🏼👏🏼
I love how he LOVES to spotlight people who deserve spotlight. Hamilton the overlooked politico and brain. J Larson as the enormous talent who diedtoo young.
The past week, watching tick tick BOOM the film, West Side Story 2021 premiering, and In the heights the film blowing up the past year...I really think about how everything could've been different if Karen Olivo was not part of the journey. Thank you to Karen.
She's an amazing singer and her body language and facial expressions are amazing in this song
I love that half of the time Lin is on the edge of cracking. This is such a fun song
This might be the perfect song for Lin's voice
The guy in the hat is a good singer! He should write a musical some day!
Looking for duet songs found this and it's LIN!!!
