My wife is Japanese, I am American. Usually they make recommendations for plans from my experience. "Do you want to go ____?" It can be a restaurant, karaoke, go to a bar, anything. That doesn't mean EVERYTHING. But in my experience, rarely do Japanese women want to JUST be friends with a guy, which is different for western women. After you spend time with her more than once. Usually around the 2nd or third time hanging out, be direct. Ask if you want to be more than just friends. Western relationships are a lot more casual about it but Japanese women prefer directness about it.

We were in DisneySea last September. We were lining up for one of the rides and you know how long the lines go in the rides. There's this Japanese girl who I noticed which is beautiful but I did not want to stare too long at her and I'm kind of a shy person. She was with a friend and they were kind of way back in the line, in such a way we would like cross each other's path when the line moves. Then the last time we were to "cross each other's path", I noticed her about to take a selfie with her friend but there's kind of a big gap they left before taking the photo. when I passed them, I saw the photo they took and it was me with my back then the cute girl pointing at me. I am not sure what that means and I did not want to automatically assume she likes me too 😅😂

I was intrigued by the idea of the concept of "Love Games". I realized in other countries, they call that courtship. In the Philippines it was mostly one sided which favored females being chased by males. Social norms here shuned upon the idea of women chasing after men. This was a fun and informative video to watch.
Foreign tourists just dont get the fact that Japanese citizens are not expressive typically of their feelings. Some westerners perceive it as being cold. A Japanese woman lets you know she is interested in you more by non-verbal communication than by what they say(which westerners are more used to with words). If they make eye contact with you, play with their hair when looking at you, blushing when in your presence, following you around at the store to get a closer look at you by pretending they are shopping in that aisle. Knowing these subtle communication signals are what determines if some guys are more successful in dating in Japan or not.I live in Japan and married for 6 years to a Japanese national.
