While we’re only one episode in, I’m really digging Dune Prophecy so far. Love seeing more of the worlds, families and overall lore that wasn’t in the films. Awesome video homie, I enjoy your work so much that I have become a new subscriber. Seriously look forward to more of your work.
Control. The Kwisatz Haderach was supposed to have all those powers take the Golden Lion Throne legitimately. He also was supposed to be loyal to the Bene Gesserit. But things didn't go according to plan.
Indeed. But still, if it wasn't for the God Emperor, humanity would likely have faced extinction. It wasn't what the Bene Gesserit envisioned, but they had a hand in the making of the God Emperor.
The thing is, who gets to choose what's right for humanity? If you've reads the main series, you know that what Leto did to ensure humanity. Tyranny, oppression etc. Do you really think they are (both the Bene Gesserit and Leto) benevolent?
I think you’re right. Both tried to justify their own means as ways to prevent the end of humanity when, in reality, everything ends. That’s the way of the universe.
That's kind of the overall message of Dune - beware of charismatic leaders claiming to know what's 'right' for everyone, because no matter how well-intentioned those leaders might be, it ends badly for everyone.
I’d like to say that they didn’t succeed because Jessica wasn’t wholly loyal to the Order, nor was Paul planned. They weren’t prepared for him and that caused them to be unprepared for the coming war. Their super being came about but he wasn’t complete. He couldn’t control his visions until he was blinded.
@@maedre1759Leto II isn’t their creation. He’s the child of Paul and Chani. Chani wasn’t in the program and is a wild card. Their program was supposed to end with the child of an Atreides and Harkonnen. Paul was supposed to be female. She was going to marry Feyd-Rautha and then possibly produce the Kwisatz Haderach. In essence, the Kwisatz Haderach exists as a blending of human and sand worm but the sisterhood never completed it themselves.
I disagree wholeheartedly. They did succeed. After several millennia, even though they were off by one generation this one set back still ultimately led to the salvation of humanity via the God Emperor. In the end the Bene Gesserit themselves benefited from all this by evolving further when they defeated the Honored Matres by assimilation. Just because their plan suffered setbacks does NOT mean it didn't work. FYI Paul IS the child of an Atreides and Harkonnen.
Reading Frank Herbert's Dune series especially Heretics and Chapterhouse will tell you more about the BG than anything you'll find in BH&KA's bad books, Dune Prophecy, or these youtube channels. If you're really interested in the BG, the last two books focus almost entirely on them and descendants of the Atreides.
this video reminds me of a conversation i had with a classmate of mine in high school. he was an iranian and i asked him as to why there is so much radical islamic terrorism in the world and why they commit so much violence, he told me that these terrorists secretly believed that one of the prophets of god (for example muhammad) was still alive and walking amongst humanity and they believe that if they wage so much war and death this prophet would see this chaos, forcefully come out of hiding and usher the world into a state of global peace. almost like their own kwisatz haderach
In Frank Herbert's Dune saga, the technocrats of planet Ix make a significant rise to power and contribute greatly to the technology of the Duniverse. It is expected that Ixians would not give up their technological superiority and benefits that come from it. The dominance of the Space Guild due to an exaggerated decision to ban even computers, not only AIs, was likely to cause great dissatisfaction. I'd expect a black market to be created to allow computer assisted space travel and independence from the Space Guild. All would work under great risk, off course. It would be great to have a TV series explorer the many facets of the Dune universe. With Denis Villeneuve's adaptation on its way, I've been exploring the characters, organizations and elements that make up this fascinating universe. Yes, the Butlerian Jihad was a bit of an overcorrection. That said, more than mere computers are needed for FoldSpace navigation. Foresight, prescience is needed to chart paths amongst the stars-So yeah, The Guild was always gonna have its monopoly. I hope this show does the Spacing Guild its due.
other memory (deep time experience) is the great unifying cohesive force joining the sisterhood mothers and forging their common bonds of deep loyalty. if i had to guess (like the miles teg obedient dog ghola awakened to his other memories) this is where the bene gesserit placed the foundations of their breeding scheme expectations. i agree with you, they got exactly what they asked for, just from the dark male perspective too terrifying for them... an alternate history i'm developing while watching Prophecy is that it's actually dune sandworm prescient ecosystem mapping the future. sandworm hybrid leto2 and the golden path was part of THEIR plan. i'm tempted to see signs already that the sandworms on arrakis are moving to prescient needs of the golden path even now, 10,000 years before leto2 birth. what if the sandworm spit desmond hart back out deliberately?
so basically the entire Dune story and in fact the entire history of humanity in this universe, is being manipulated by a grand plot based on 3rd wave feminism?
@@Okkotsu86275 Dialogue is cheesy, everybody's like saying aphorisms etc. And the ending was similar to the ending of Got episode 1, when Jaime pushes Bran out a window. It's like they are just trying to grab people's attention with some shock value.
Only 24K subs? That's criminal... A channel like yours deserves a million subs, at a minimum.
Hope so :)

Your name is Valaritas - are you going to make a video about the four plate door?
One day...
In the show Valya mentions that she wants to fix her family's reputation, what does this have to do with Sisterhood?
Because her ancestor was branded a coward at the battle of Corrin and their great house became anathema.

TV show is bad. It's like CW Dune.
How so?

Yea. The show is pretty bad.
