For what it's worth, this is what the Matrix looks like with one of the original directors behind the helm. The problem is that Hollywood was ALWAYS going to make a matrix 4, with or without the original directors of the trilogy. Imagine how much WORSE the last movie could have been without the watchowskis

For me only the first Matrix was exciting and enjoyable, the rest just were like video games.
Yeah no one is touching the first. It blew me away as a 15 year old in 1999. Especially as a lover of Japanese anime. Everything about it was brand new. It would appear they've adapted the fast & furious ideology for these films

This looks terrible. The last movie was a dumpster fire. Whatever success the last movie had, piggybacked off the success of the original trilogy. It was really really bad. The movie came out in 2021 and the box office is at $159 mil with a budget of $190 mil. How did a 5th movie even come up as a discussion? Is there an agenda trying to be pushed?
When will enough be enough for a story? Let a franchise die when it's time.

Devastated they went with this mental storyline instead of the real world from the originals turning out to be simulations aswell, finding out it was all a lie as the machines won the planet long ago. Made sense when neo stopped the squids with his mind in the real world, wouldve been an infinitely cooler story than trinity also being the one and the machines just keeping the ones alive as super batteries.

Why don’t they give it a rest? The Matrix ended with the first trilogy. Now it looks more like holding to an original idea because they can no longer afford a new one. Are there really no longer screenwriters with original ideas in Hollywood? All these “new versions” look more like their saying “please go spend money on this movie…whether its good or not just pull out some cash as soon as you see this familiar title somewhere”
