I went to a TLM last Sunday for the 1st time since childhood and young women had a demon attack her....she was from out of town and struggling apparently with demonic attacks - the whole church got on their knees and the priest went to her and we all prayed the Rosary.....she screamed....it was unbelievable. She was eventually calmed and referred to an exorists.....Unbelievable! Lord Please deliver this young woman. Praise God!

Nice to see Dr. Marshall getting a bit of intelligent pushback, not something we see very often. That being said, Rev. Robinson's position strikes me as a very Protestant-trying-to-be-catholic-without-really-being-Catholic type of thing. I used to be there myself. Thanks be to God I'm now in union with the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church and I hope and pray one day he is too.

Taylor's comment.....four times to appreciate the TLM. That may be the case for someone who never knew the TLM, but for me, it was the first time back at the TLM. My mind was screaming out a, "thank you Dear Lord, You have returned." I was dumbstruck by how far I had fallen away, not totally my fault, but my responsibility to find my way back. I am old enough to have been well immersed in the TLM before it was taken away.
When I first started going to the TLM, it was once or twice every six months on Saturdays. It was “nice place to visit but I don’t necessarily want to live there.”
Those four times need to be in succession. Once I started going regularly on Sundays 💥💥💥!!! It was like a fulfillment of a longing that I never knew existed in my soul.
As a cradle Catholic, you realize what was denied you by your “shepherds”. Then as you continue going and deeply praying the Mass it hits you smack in the pit of your stomach: look at what we have been denying the Almighty God! This IS worship! This is our duty and what we owe to Him!

Rome always had apellate jurisdiction. Immediate jurisdiction is the challenge of Vatican I and has led to a disaster post Vatican II for the Church of Rome. Look at what Francis has done and is doing with his supremacy in the West. Fr. Calvin makes a great point. Is it Jesus Christ or the Pope that makes one Catholic? The Old Catholics, certain Anglicans, and the Orthodox all possess valid sacraments and hold to the Creeds and the Councils. They certainly believe in the Real Presence of Christ and have His Priesthood. They are in full Communion with our Lord.
As does the PNCC

The parish priest welcomed Emily into a new family of 1.4 billion people. It was a nice day and everybody was happy. This is what Father Calvin can look forward to enjoying, one day.😀

I am a Permanent Deacon in the Catholic Church and have been for more than 36 years now. I believe that the "jurisdiction" discussed here is what leads to the Church's problems when it comes to splitting up. Rather than "having the jjurisdiction" surely the Prelates involved have the DUTY to find a way to maintain the unity of the Chruch. With the help of the Holy Spirit this is possible. Exercising jurisdiction is where the failure occurs.

EO here and fascinated to watch these two talk & debate. Fr Calvin expressed the ancient orthodox approach to jurisdiction very well. I truly believe, if we all look to Christ, confess our sins, and grow in the Holy Spirit God will heal our divisions - organically, in the Spirit, and just in time to stand up to Antichrist. Love to you all in Christ. No one who loves the Eucharist wants to be recalcitrant or to lord it over or anything like that. We have honest disagreements that Christ can & will heal if we seek faithfully the “unity of the Spirit in the bind of peace,” “unity of the faith and knowledge of the unapproachable glory” of the Lord.

As a retired Catholic priest orignally from Scotland I would encourage Fr Calvin to make sure he says his prayers of protection perhaps following Fr Chad Ripperger's books. We were never taught anything about the Old Mass and only learned (poorly), the Novus Ordo. The bones are the Old Rite and unfortunately, I had to learn the Usus Antiquior in my own time. In my own Mass I follow the rubrics of the Old Mass as far as possible and with my altar facing East I do the consecration in Latin and wherever else I can apply the existing norms. If priests stick to the rubrics there is a particular reverence that follows bodily postures and allows the priest to be guided by the strict implementation of the gestures. I recommend others to do the same until the restrictions are lifted
My archbishop has forbidden one of the priests in the vicariate where I live to celebrate the NO ad orientem, following one complaint, despite the overwhelming approval letters sent to the archbishop. Rome upheld the ruling. I don't even attend that parish except on very rare occasions (when I visited my late Dad at the nursing home, and my late Mom who lived nearby, and just a week and a half ago for her funeral), and I was deflated by it all when it happened. I just rejoice that this particular priest is the one who administered the Last Rites to both of my parents, and gave them the Apostolic Pardon. At least the hierarchy haven't suppressed the Apostolic Pardon.

First among equals is an oxymoron. What does it even mean? Cambridge Dictionary defines it as follows "a member of a group who is officially on the same level as the other members but who in fact has slightly more responsibility or power:" and gives the example of "The prime minister is first among equals in the cabinet." . Well obviously the prime minister is the leader of the cabinet. In fact saying that the Pope is the first among equals is an admission that he is the leader of the Catholic Church. Being the leader of an institution gives him certain rights over the bishops and every member of the Catholic Church.

It's nice to see Marshall gently challenged for a change. He does a lot of talking but not much debating. None better than Robinson in my opinion.
His podcast, from its inception, has never been an open forum for debating, or intellectual fencing. Marshall is more then capable in handling a conversation of this nature, since he has a background in Theology and comprehends the use of apologetics.

This is what good faith disagreement seeking truth looks like.
Having listened to the above interview and then to Dr. Gavin Ashenden's review (a superb dissection of the discussion), and I have to say that Marshall and Gavin are right in pinpointing Calvin's prevarication. It seems he values his independence above all and thus has avoided accepting the one true faith and the one true church. May he see the error of his ways.
Love Fr. Calvin Robinson. A prophetic voice. Like Dr. Marshall I love the traditional choral song and language of the English Catholic tradition. We need the seat of Peter but we also need to respect the college of Cardinals and their choice of Pope.

Fr Calvin should read Fr Adrian Fortescue’s book called ‘The Early Papacy to the Synod of Chalcedon.’ You can get it free online since it’s in the public domain. He simply quotes from the Fathers of the Church proofs for Papal jurisdiction, Communion with Rome, and Papal Infallibility which are points that he seemed to struggle with in the interview.
