As always you have great results. What you think about this gel is exactly what I think. It’s my second time trying this gel. I tried it 2 years ago with a leave in and I wasn’t a fan. I was out of UFD so I bought the curl maker in my local Walmart. I paired it with I create hold. I wasn’t sure but my wash n go lasted 5 to 6 days , little to no freeze. But I find myself liking UFD and kinky curly custard more. I’m still satisfied with it.
Love your application. Taking your time and not rushing is always a must. You may already know that a heat protectant isn't necessary when sitting under a hooded dryer because it is not considered direct heat, it is indirect heat because it doesn't touch your hair (i.e. flat iron). Another step you don't necessarily need.
Appreciate it! Yeah, I know. I’m just being extra with that one. Trying to see if it helps with a breakage of the crown of my head since I said, under a hooded dryer for sometimes over an hour. I know it’s not necessary 👌🏾
I love this combo on your hair. I gives you a shingled look without shingling🙂 With your density the definition is beautiful. I find that if i use a little too much of the Curl maker, after a few days it feels sticky. Another great combo is kinky curly and in shower style fixer. Very moisturized, great definition but perhaps not as long lasting (5 -6 days)
Thank you! Yeah, I’m trying to learn a balance with the Curlmaker, but I also don’t wanna have to work too hard to make a gel work. This combo worked out well, so we shall see!
Something that seems to be helping with my ends is leaving my curls clumped as opposed to separating them as days go on. I get less tangles and single strand knots. But its inconvenient if you like a lot of volume. You’re results came out lovely by the way I was never able to make Camille rose work for me.
@Brittany Mia Oh good!!!! I used to love that stuff when my hair was super short but I don't know how well it'll work for me now that my hair is much longer and denser. Maybe I might have to give it a try TOO.
Love this! Thanks for showing results throughout the week! This is so help especially when sharing different combinations. Absolutely love your content
Girl...just girl 🥰💜 gorgeous. Glo by Daye bonnets & scarves are 🔥💣. I look forward to seeing which products from the line go well with the Curl Maker because I've had disastrous results with a few pairings. The gel is great but with the wrong companion, FLAKE city.
❤️💜 thank ya. They’re such good quality. It’s a shame how much this flakes with the wrong pairing, and it’s even worse that so many people experience flakes even when using it alone. Hopefully they’ll work out because I do want to support this company.
This combo looks good 👀I’ll have to try this out, since I have a few curl makers I need to use up in my stash, I usually use the curly magic or kinky curly curling custard with the in shower style fixer.
Those two are still my top favorites. I’m going to give the Curlmaker ago for quite a few more tries because I like the definition, but I don’t like that it can be hard to pair with other products.
I'm going to try it on it's own next week as I primarily use the Uncle Funky's on its own over a little leave-in. I also have the Lavender line from them that's supposed to have a stronger hold so I'm happy to see you had good results. I used to use the Camille Rose and did see flakes so this video was helpful. Those holiday have me stocked like a personal beauty supply lol
With the bangs, now might be a good time to think about how you'll want to wear your hair over the summer. Have you ever tried the original Denman brush for coiling? (The ManesByMell youtube channel has demonstrated how to do this a few times.) I wish I knew of a version of the brush where the bristles aren't that hard. But if you want to see something a little silly to detangle / style with, I'd suggest the Diane D1083 brush. It looks like a Barbie Brush, feels like a Barbie Brush, doesn't make a noise if you drop it in the tub, and has flexible bristles. But, I don't know if you need something stronger than that.
This is the perfect gentle reminder to not stop my state of being a natural ...... but just an elevate my products and my product combos.... Also your videos are so educational and relaxing.
Does this leave a sticky cast? Curl maker makes my hair a bit sticky, do you think the in shower style fixer makes it less sticky while giving more hold?
I think it was sticky in a few places, but not overall. It may only have to do with the amount that I used. I’m always adding a little bit more than I should, but I do believe that the in shower style fixer makes it less sticky because of the cold and consistency.
I prefer the curl maker for the definition but unfortunately it broke out my neck and ears so badly recently that I'm unable to use it again. Also I'm with you that it's easier to separate my curls with curl maker. Uncle funkys for me
Hey lady I hope you're doing well. I'm going back to twist outs to give it a try again, I'm tired of the wash/ go look on me. I'm so nervous though since I'd given into no creams & butters/ oils.
The consistency is like a botanical gel, but less gooey if that makes sense. I don’t use a lot of strong hold gels, but this is quite moisturizing as it has water and glycerin in the top three ingredients. I haven’t tried them together yet, but I think they would mix quite well.
I like the curl maker but with my hair it just wasn’t a strong enough hold so it wouldn’t last. Also I noticed flakes with and without the moisture milk sadly
Yeah, I noticed a little bit, and I mean a little bit, of flaking at the very ends of my hair when I would separate. Only a few curls were doing it, but I don’t like that at all. I want to keep working with it for a while and seeing if it’s worth having around.
Giggle! I just used the Curl Smith for thé first time and Camille Rose is my usual. I’m more defined with Style Fixer. This is day/night 1 so we’ll see how it holds up. Curl Maker doesn’t make my coils pop anymore.
@@BrittanyMia 🤷🏽♀️ I thought it was moisture, deep conditioned for a year, then protein, so I used aphogee 2 step, got a Rezzo trim, now using Curl Smith bond repair, no difference. My hair is longer. My curls popped more with my mohawk; I used Design Essentials mousse with Curl Maker it was the perfect combo with some flakes. Doesn’t coil or define as well. Although this curl smith in shower style fixer improved définition significantly. Wet line defines but that’s not ideal to usé consistently.
@@TyraHigh I get that. As my hair gets longer, the short hair definition I had is going away. Trying to get that back someway somehow lol. Thanks for sharing!
Hey Hair twin! I instantly watch your uploads because our texture is so damn similar that I figure I might as well let you take one for the team 😂. I actually thought this would be doomed from the start because I cannot get that curlmaker to work for me, it's hard to find balance because it doesn't mix well and it has a tendancy to bead up & flake. May I ask how much you used?? I think I'm gonna try it tonight because I want to get my 20$'s worth lmao
Lol hey hair twin! I used about 3 to 5 pumps per section. The bigger sections I split in half like in the center of my head and used those 3 to 5 pumps on those split sections. I found that the less I used the better since this can potentially flake with too much product. 🤣 let me know how it goes!
No matter what you use your hair looks fabulous.
I agree

Good! I understand you have to do what is best for your hair. I am glad the Olaplex is helping. I think it is a GREAT Bond treatment.
Your hair looks great, that goes without saying. But the editing and the music...so satisfying!
A high compliment. Thank you 😊

I’m gonna try some new things so that I can achieve the volume I want sooner, but so far I can’t help but to separate the curls. Thanks!
I pin my ends down and use the tension method on my roots with a blow dryer. Definition and volume!
The result was just gorgeous!!! Let's face it, your hair is a beautiful canvas for products!😍😘
Thank you so much 🤗
UFD gives me a lot of moisture and softness. Curl Custard gives me hold. I use them together
I see we're giving it another try. Haven't watched the video yet but hopefully this Camille Rose wash n go is a success unlike last time
Twas a success 🙌🏾

Camila Rose Curl Maker is my fighter! Love it. Your hair look so healthy

That combo worked very well for you. The WnG was so pretty on all the days!
My go to combo but once it dries I think oil my scalp which breaks the cast from the elixir (Curlsmith). I love your videos. Will continue to watch.
Thank you for sharing this combo! I tried this and I’m in love with my set. This will definitely be a go-to for me.
Awesome! You’re welcome.

Lovely hair as always! Have you filmed your separation technique? I would love to see it😊
That’ll be coming here soon. It’ll be in another wash and go video most likely.
I might have to try this combo! I like a curl can dream from matrix feels so good on my hair but I'll have to try this after I use it up.

@@BrittanyMia thank you!!
I loooooove the uncle funny’s with Jello shot and the kinky curly leave in. The crunch is on 10 as a warning tho.
The curls are curlingggg hunnay. Do you test match the gels in your hands before applying or do you just take the risk with each combo?
I honestly just risk it all. It would probably save me some failed attempts, but I’d still be curious, so I try things either way.
That hair is thick and healthy, never know what to pair with UFD because of the flakes 🥰
Thanks! Oh wow, you get flakes with the UFD curly magic? I ask because I just haven’t had people say they had that experience.
@@BrittanyMia , yes I do at times, it’s very hard to pair with other products, not sure why.
Your hair is gorgeous
Thank you 🥰
Can you try this combo my hairstylist gave to me? Curls goddess gel with uncle funky’s curly magic as the topper? I’m curious to see your results

The in shower style fixer, what's the consistency? I use Kinky Curl Custard gel and I wanted to try a protein leave in but I'm worried it will flake

@@BrittanyMia Maybe because it has a lot of coconut oil in it and it creates build up overtime

@E.G.22 expensive Af!
Uncle Funky elongates the curls and Camille Rose snatches the curls tight, but over the days the cast wears off
Your playlist tho….
I know right…I LOVE her choice of music playing in the background…I feel like I am sitting in a small cafe drinking a smooth French roast…
