I think one of the reasons Isayama couldn't kill the characters is because they are loved by the audience, and if he wanted to kill a character, he tried to make his death heroic, and the vision changed with this idea. Finally, he didn't want to make his readers think that there is a solution to the genocide or justify the many reasons that led to this ending. Is what wild? I appreciate you understanding my view of Isayama. Despite being a Yeagerist, I really could have overlooked the lack of reasoning on the Alliances part of the following happened: 1. Eren’s character was not retconed at the end. 2. We saw Eren talk to Mikasa in paths instead of Armin (just because I think that that would have been more poetic and they could express themselves to each other finally. Zi also think Mikasa was underdeveloped sadly). 3. Lastly, if the Alliance was able to save Paradis/Paradis just doesn’t get destroyed. That made me wonder what the point any of the show was.

It is funny now that you mention it that we never saw eren talk to Mikasa in paths and people act like its some romantic tragedy. It really isn't. I like that Paradis was destroyed tho only because it essentially showed that the alliance was wrong.
