I'd forgotten about how much trouble Margie would stir up a true classic?!!! LoL! Thank You
An oldie and a goodie!!! I used to watch the re-runs as a child.
I love the Mrs. Odets character. I remember another episode where she was driving a "souped-up" Jaguar!😃
Charles Farrell was a matinee idol when he was younger. Janet Gaynor was his leading lady for Fox pictures.
Love Mrs. Odets!!!!!!!!!!! And those were the days when sitcoms had memorable complete theme songs, with credits you could actually watch and read. Miss those days!!!!!
I remember watching this on re-runs, in the late 1950’s. I remember when the intro would go close up to the picture frame and Margie would talk about her father and then vice versa. What well written scripts!
Life was much better in those days before computers. I wish there was a time machine!
I thought the talking photograph on the tabletop was part of the introduction. Thanks for confirming!
Mrs.Odetts was played by Gertrude Hoffman. She was in vaudeville when she was young.
Mrs. Odetts was just too cute. Loved her philanthropic wackiness.
I just found this gem. Thank you. I’m a subscriber now. Great show. I love the oldies. 👍❤️
This show brings back fond memories, thanks for showing it.
I watched the original series when I was a little girl, a long long time ago
Thank you for taking the time to upload these episodes of My Little Margie. I’m a big fan and just subscribed with all notifications! Sending you wishes this holiday for health and happiness. Angie from California.
I’ve heard stories about old days when young people used to use “modern talk”. Thank heavens we don’t have trouble like that any more.
The car door opened with a string! LOL
Never heard of this before, but I love old shows...
Love her lil cocktail dinner hat!! Time's certainly has changed...
Time's what?
@@hijodelaisla275 It's an expression, as to say times have changed...there are no more cocktail hats or men in suits and ties 😉
@@alfredbonnabel7022 That's for sure. I'm familiar with the expression. I guess I was thrown off by a typographical error. I'm back on track now; thanks for your reply.
@@hijodelaisla275 Sorry for the error.
I recall this being rerun on local TV here in NYC I think on ch 5 in the early 60s. I've never seen it in syndication since. CF was big box office back in the day. Handsome.
Just great !
Love these shows. Thanks! Wish you could show them in the original more square 1:35-1 ratio.
A thousand plunks .
Great show
Mrs. Odetts 🤣
I was excited to find a new (to me) series, but 2 episodes in, and they write the daughter to be willing achieve her ends at the expense of her father. I know it's a sitcom, but this is crazy. Hopefully it will improve.
Instead of Father Knows Best, think of this as Daughter Thinks She Knows Best.
@@howardkerr8174 ~ 😄...I had issues with Father Knows Best as well...the parents seemed to pull from a mixed bag of values when it came to helping to shape the children's developing characters and attitudes....
(I might have 🤏, neurotic aversion and real world reaction to obnoxious/nonsensical writing on shows.
I just feel everything. When I was little, I'd have an upset stomach when the kids in a show were about to get found out about something. "Locked Up Abroad" makes my heart rate increase, and I pause multiple times per episode, anxious about the impending doom of the future prisoner.
And books?....Oh, my....)
Charles Farrell and Janet Gaynor were married for a time-not sure of the years
Bankers....all the same!
How old is her character supposed to be in this series? She was in her 30's . . and IMO looks like her 40's. Sort of a 'spinster' back in the day
In the 1st episode they said Margie was 21.
@@fairladyZ64 IDK . . . Gale Storm was born in 1922. The show started in '52
how are people just "popping into other people's appartments" without the door being locked???
They did in SEINFELD too.
It might be hard to believe but people felt safe in their homes and would even leave the doors unlocked when they went out.
