I KNOW he would because Allan hated people copying him. He wanted to hear YOUR impression. What a humble genius. Allan Holdsworth is the Nikola Tesla of music ; On a planet of one where the world will catch up to him a hundred years later.
I have mixed feelings about Holdsworth covers. People don't speak the Holdsworth harmonic language, they just play on it as if it was bebop. You are better off playing your own music or standards than covering Holdsworth.
Hey man, with all due respect, why do you think we don’t play our own music and standards? I’m getting really tired of people writing these negative RUclips comments based off of one video. Because I happen to be playing Allan’s music in this video, by no means is that all I do.
@@adamhershmusic you didn't get my comment. I didn't say you don't have your own music or play on standards. I was rather suggesting not playing Holdsworth covers. You are obviously very skilled. But this isn't about that. Holdsworth had a specific way of playing on his harmony and if you ain't doing that, it sounds funny. And if you are doing that, it's just copying. So there is no winning there.
@@user-ov5nd1fb7s I don't know man, it just sounds to me like your ears are very closed. Jazz has a century+ tradition of reinterpreting other people's compositions. Evan Allan recorded an album of standards. I think this works brilliantly as a reinterpretation that avoids being a straight copy. It keeps the legacy of Allan's music going while continuing to push the music into new places, which is exactly what he was about his whole career.
Gran trabajo. Es bonito escuchar este gran tema con otros timbres.
Sensational! Literally feels like a Coltrane song with the beginning verse. Such melodic vision it’s insane, Allan’s chords are denser than diamonds!
I think that Allan would really love this

Great tune! Really appreciate Gary's touch! Take care and thank you!
Keeping Allan's music alive, for the next 5000 years....The sax players are KILLIN' it ! WOW !!!!!!!
This makes me want to get my chops back. The world needs more Holdsworth! Thanks, gentlemen!
Long live Allan!❤
Great job!
nice rendition ✌👓👍 thanks for uploading!
That was great!
Incredible! Well done everyone!
Espetacular , awesome, thanks
Great. It is not a copy. Allan will be so happy about this.
Anyone know how the notes of the chords are being allocated between the horns and the guitar? My phone speaker isn't the best.
Seems like Allan's music is slowly working it's way into the "standards" repertoire.
When and where can I buy?❤❤❤

@@Poparad maybe you are right, I don't know. I can only hear through my ears.
Great job!
