    How do we know/calculate the loose gap between nut in tied bellows wrt each piping sizes? Any standards available?

    • @gourisankarsamanta7670
      @gourisankarsamanta7670  3 года назад

      Actually no gap is required. But for easy lateral movement, 1 mm gap is recommended.

    Sir, this was a very good explanation! Sir I have a question in mind. Can expansion joints be made up of socket and spigot combination? where a flanged ring and a rubber gasket are placed in position on the spigot end.

      I am located at Kolkata, India.
      Yes, you can make this type of metallic bellows, market is also good in the industry. Almost all industry require it for pipelines.

    Sir can we loosen or remove the tie rods before installion?

    • @gourisankarsamanta7670
      @gourisankarsamanta7670  5 лет назад

      No, it is not recommended. For this reason, tie rods for metallic bellows are tack welded so that nobody can loose it.
      But for cooling water line rubber bellows, tie rods can be removed if required for pump alignment, thereafter tie rods are to be tightened.

    Please what is the meaning of this expansion joint type HM7248 DN 400?

    • @SANDHYAENTERPRISES
      @SANDHYAENTERPRISES 4 года назад

      Type 40 is a high-corrugated, highly elastic rubber expansion joint. Due to its corrugation it has very low
      inherent resistance. It is characterized by its ability to absorb a large amount of movement in any direction.
      The type and amount of corrugation, installation length and material strength of this type can all be tailored
      to your requirements. There are also a large number of rubber qualities available, which means that you can
      select a suitable rubber compound for any application (see the material descriptions on the following pages).
      Type 40 is mainly used in large industrial plants and power plants, where it compensates offsetting and
      compression, insulates vibration and absorbs pipe movement.
