My LCS gave me a 25% discount on a daredevil 1 (£600 down from £800) when they first got it. They knew I’d been after one for years and had only recently secured my first job and had been saving for a while. The owner said “I’d rather sell it to you who I know will appreciate it, even if I make a bit less money, than get full price and sell it to someone who’ll put it in a box and sell it on in a few years.”
I never asked for a discount, but they’d already decided they wanted to make it reachable for me.

If I ever had 75$ big ones, I would enter the store discretely, slip passed the ' storekeeper ' and shout ' I have 75$ dollars!' Luring the storekeeper into believing that there's a possibility of a ' sale.' this way my belittling plan to catch the storekeeper off guard, will give me time enough to cast a ' black lotus ' spell that can also change the course of humanity into allowing me to get all issues of hulk 181 for less than 10$ which will in effect, give me the capital upon high resale on eBay to build a army and armor it enough to take over north America, and then eastern Europe, because of the hot Mama's, and then Asia and Africa, because I like to boogie 😛

Personally I hate slab books. I own zero slabs and I will never get a book graded. I like reading and flipping through my books. Once it’s slabbed all you can do is look at the front and the back
