Julia Hartley Brewer said "Who'd want to sleep with that" about Wallace, change it to a man saying, who'd want to sleep with that, and he'd be hounded off TV- it's happened.
For crying out loud, there are far more important things going on than a man with a smutty mouth everyone grow up ! If these women are really outraged they would’ve done something about it. Don’t give me that line “we did complain but nothing was done”

It's because we live in a world that thrives on scandal. The best thing to do is ignore the media channels as much as possible. That way their ratings will drop. They may then reconsider their strategy. I agree there are more important and serious things going on in the world this is just scandal and gossip about some gobshite.
Sick to death of hearing about this. I'm a middle aged woman of middle intellect and would like to think i have the ability to deal with someone who was 'offending' me, there and then and without feeling the need to broadcast it. Attention seekers.
What about 'groping' allegations.
They should be investigated and if proven criminal charges should follow. Otherwise he's ( rightly) been taken off air and will have an eternity to reflect on his behaviour. That is fair resolution

I too am middle aged only male
I used to indulge in banter with females when I was growing up and once when I was drunk I made a comment to a woman which was marginally over the threshold of acceptance, not indecent or threatening but a joke too far....her response, she picked up my pint of beer and poured it over my head and made me look very stupid. Everyone laughed at me 🤣 .....and good for her.....that taught me 😮

Here we go again. I think Lorraine in particular shows the misandry going on, they had a clip of him saying it was middle aged women, when what he actually said was' in 20 years I've worked with 4000 people, I look in the paper and it's 13 woman of a certain age' This was perfectly reasonable comment.

The accusation has been made and he is cancelled. Whether he’s innocent or guilty is now sadly irrelevant.
He actually said that out of 4,000 he had worked with on the show the 13 who complained were of a certain age. I find it odd that they have only just bothered to make a comment years after it supposedly happened.

I've never understood why he was chosen to co host a show that judges chefs.
All he ever did was to peer around corners, watching the amateur chefs chopping food, rhen pull silly faces.
Then he'd be given say homemade garlic bread to taste and say, "Ive got the garlic coming through".
Who interviewed him, auditioned him, approved his input into the programme format, and tolerated the situation. This should be made public as it appears systemic. And it is not a cop out to pass the buck to a subcontractor as it shows the BBC is prepared to accept variable standards to get a programme to air.

Greggs is from the time of ‘Carry On’ films and TV Sitcoms of the 60s and 70c with all the sexual (and racial) innuendos and jokes of the time - back in the day it was openly accepted then and nobody complained!

When i was younger (and mind you im not that old either). It was quite normal in the workplace for men and women to constantly talk about their sex lives and use inuendos etc and constantly make dirty jokes.
I never cared for it, actually it made me feel uncomfortable. But i also never thought it was cause to complain or make a big deal out of it.
I always just saw it as a difference in how people bantered and differences in sense of humour.
I suppose if it goes beyond inuendo and jokes and becomes hyper personalised and specific and hes not responding to people pushing back on him then it might be a different matter.
The devil is in the details on matters like this and its not clear what really went on or what the context was.

He's a confident man who empowers masculinity in others and is definately a role model for many less empowered men.
This seems something like the Saville story, in that I had a strong feeling there was something wrong but could never put my finger on the problem. In the same way Greg Wallace is loud, brash and vulgar which may be his way, whether intentional or otherwise, of covering up his deeper issues.

It is sexual harassment and no place for it in a work environment. He knows it’s not acceptable. Whether it is sense of humor or not it’s not the time or the place .. their not his mates in the pub. He hasn’t been hiding under a rock for the last couple of decades. However at that is it news worthy and not just something the bbc should just be dealing with privately.. just make him stop or lose his job following a dismal process ..

If the BBC contracts out program production it should have an overseer onsite to ensure standards or at least have a clause in the contract stipulating severe penalties if standards are not upheld, usually financial.
I expect wholesome shows to be wholesome. I don't care how smutty the humour is on programs which set out to be. If it's ' 8 Out of 10 Cats Do Countdown, Greg Wallace, go fill your boots. (but notice he's not on that show as he's just not that funny). In fact, for me, he's not even funny. Ever. I too don't give a rat's behind if Masterchef, continues, much less Celebrity Masterchef, and equally I don't care if Wallace survives this or not. Men generally are often slow to learn that women generally will not put up with this behaviour any longer, and I don't care how many of them bite the dust for the sort of smut they think they can throw out at anyone, male or female, at any time. Those who wish to be celebrities have to be conservative in speech and actions when it's required. Wallace is very slow to learn that and as he appears to have lived by the sword, he'd better be ready to fall on his sword, because he's made a serious blunder here and has topped it off by adding another log to the fire in trying to justify his behaviour. Yuck. Serious or not, it's just NASTY.
